RC33 G1 firmware update gets detailed in full

We've already heard of one big new feature included in the RC33 firmware update for the G1, but with the update now trickling out into the wild, we've finally got the complete rundown of what's been added and fixed. Leading the list of additions is the ability to check for software updates, and receive automatic updates in the Android Market when an updated application is available. You'll also now be able to take advantage of Google Voice Search, save pictures received as MMS, and report comments in the Market as spam when you see fit. The update also apparently fixes some messaging stability issues, as well as a problem with a lack of reminders on calendar items, and a pesky issue that caused some G1s to hang at the G1 screen. Hit up the link below for the complete breakdown, and keep an eye on your handset for the over-the-air update.

so then whats this called? muffins?
The updates to installed apps is huge. I will use that daily. The only options we have now is scrolling through the list of ALL available apps, or use aTrackDog, which kinda sucks.
The update will start to be pushed the devices starting tomorrow, 2/5. Some people might have gotten prompted for the update early, but not very many. Keep a look out, people.
Did no one pay attention when they said the updates would come out in a series... Maybe this is the beginning of cupcake
I just got the update, and I noticed on how much internal memory it freed up! Before the update, I was lucky if I could get 14MB of free internal memory. After the update, I now have around 38MB of free internal memory! Now I don't have to constantly clear my Browser cache, and my GMail memory. Awesome!
I received my update at 12 noon. Everything went well, seems a little snappier getting to messages...oh and the scrolling icon label is nice :)
I understand they are supposed to be releasing this geographically this go 'round. I'm in SF Bay area and no update this AM. Where are those who have rec'd the update?
Email app is still glitchy. Instead of "connection error" when connecting to yahoo mail, it now sometimes says "wrong username and password", even though it worked before, and it works again later. And now, if you try to set the password and it has trouble connecting, the email app just hangs with a non-responsive "cancel" button. You have to turn the phone off and on again to get the email app back into some sort of working state.
I'm thinking of writing my own email app. Seriously.
Just use K9, works great and has notifier.
