We
just recently heard that HTC's S743 was coming to U.S. markets, and now there's video of the device getting unboxed and pawed at. If you've already forgotten, the
S740 lookalike's got a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 2.4-inch QVGA display, and runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard. No big surprises here -- it's looking pretty solid overall -- but check it out for yourself.
I like how this device is a lot different than most other smartphones you see out now. The only phone I can remember having that would be comparable to this one in height was my first Nokia. I think that this phone is going to be great for one handed use, especially with running windows mobile standard. I do like how they included a keyboard as well because sometimes you can't escape those long winded emails or texts back to your girlfriend.
Verizon has/had one with the slideout keyboard and number pad. It's very usefull for it's compactness and the keyboard for banging out messages/emails. It's screensize and lack of touchscreen are the downsides.
So basically it's great for the office klutz that needs company mail but is horrible with phones and would never know what to do with anything other than push email, texting, surfing, and calling people.
