Sprint Simply Everything plan now includes mobile broadband for laptops

Update: Sprint pinged us to clarify that the additional fee only covers the use of a USB stick or laptop card, not tethering. We'd still love to just carry one thing, though.

I'll take the plunge on the Pre but I don't need mobile tethering for my laptop. Too many free sites (coffeeshops, airports, restaurants, etc).

why would anyone go to Sprint just because they added broadband to the "simply everything but signal plan"? The Pre is really cool but will come over to Verizon in no time.
i dont believe that for a second jay. i've been a Verizon subscriber for years and i cant think of one instance where Sprint got a phone exclusively and then it "came right over in no time" to Verizon. it usually takes months if not years, IF it ever even comes over at all. and on the occasion one does come over, it's usually missing features and gimped to shit. im personally going to Sprint for the Pre too, it just seems like it has everything i want in a phone, but it's not for the Simply Everything plan, it's for better quality phones. im so tired of using crappy, buggy, Verizon phones, i just want to try something different. plus Verizon barely works anywhere i am anyway, so no lose there either for me moving to Sprint (Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland).
This is the same price as an aircard
the broadband add on for $50 is an aircard, so paying the $50 more gets you the pc card/ air card service just pick what device you want usb, pcmcia, express, etc

That means you need a Sprint air card to utilize the mobile broadband for laptops. Like an ExpressCard 3G card or USB 3G stick.

The irony is nothing is actually "included" you could ALWAYS get this on a Simply Everything plan, its just a SECOND LINE added as a "DATA" line, and they charge you deposit (if required for this), and bundle the price into one.
If you do this separately its the same price anyway.
this is NOT the same price if you bundle them together. The simply everything plan is $99 and the aircard is 59.99. if you put those together you get 158.99. when you bundle them we save you ten dollars a month by offering the aircard for 49.99 what is 10.00 X 24 months? $240.00!!! Admit it... saving money is saving money. this is good for people who are already paying for this and want to save $240.00 over the period of their contract. Sprint is saving people money, and people need to realize that.

3552.00 for the full term of the contract WITH THE BUNDLE
get over yourself sprint haters... this economy sucks!! might as well save money when and wherever you can!

C'mon Sprint, is that the best you can do? $10 off your current unlimited data rate doesn't quite blow my skirt up. I'm already a Sprint data card customer, and would switch my voice plan over for a more compelling discount.
Still, Kudos for having the best unlimited plan out there. I hate the other carriers' requirement to pay extra for data and other features on theirs.
Jeff, not trying to flame or discredit you but I've been offered as $50/mo. aircard for the last few years and I think current literature says that the price if you have a corresponding voice/data plan. Still a awesome deal, all in all
