Shoehorned in with its
Samsung Memoir announcement today, T-Mobile has announced that it plans on covering 200 million Americans with its AWS 3G network by the end of 2009. That's up from "more than 100 million people" at the end of 2008, so even if you consider "more than 100 million" to be as high as 150 million, that's still a nice boost in HSPA coverage year over year. And considering that we're expecting a barrage of new
G series (or at least one or two of 'em) to launch on T-Mob in '09, we'll take just as much 3G as we can get.
Hey, forget 3G -- I'm more concerned with T-Mobile fixing some of the massive 2G dead zones there are everywhere in their network.
Or even better... what's the point of 3G coverage when you have so few devices to use them with. All these new devices announced and so few w/ T-mo 3G bands. :( With Verizon implementing a my faves plan, I might start re-considering my loyalty to T-mo.
You have no loyalty to TMo, Sprint-BitchBoy-Troll.
Any questions?
:)
Still waiting on EDGE in markets like Wichita Falls, TX.
Verizon is over priced and it 3G is no faster then T-mobiles edge, plus the faq that they have no phones worth useing, there main phone is the storm, they are still on CDMA, I think all stick with the best carrier in the us named T-mobile, and I work for AT&T
Haha that's funny.
Now how about if someone asks them when they expect to have a windows mobile 3g phone on the market. There is no point in covering more area and not supplying consumers with the equipment they need.
tmobile might be the fourth largest carrier, but its coverage ranks higher than sprint and AT&T, as stated in the consumer reports magazine of dec 2008, they tested like 60 cities and tmobile placed second in like 90 percent of them, omlu behind verizon (which is so expensive). The magazine went on to say that using sprint and At&T should be a last resort as coverage and customer service are both bad and only go to them as a last resort..
My EDGE speeds in cincinnati rival that of 3g speeds of AT&T, as my g1 running on EDGE actually beat my friends Iphone 3g running 3g in 3 out of 5 test all with cleared caches.
i cant wait til cincinnati gets 3g, though EDGE is pretty fast here so will see how much of a difference it makes.
Yeah I'm in cinci and got 160~Kbps with a speedtest on EDGE. I still want 3G but I do have good speeds for EDGE.
Here's to hoping that this goes hand in hand with a play to get some top of the line 3g handsets to work on T-Mo's frequency (Omnia HD/n97)
Very good Mobile
