Rumor: LG Rumor 2 rumored to replace Rumor

The original Rumor's starting to get along in the years now, and considering the overwhelming popularity both of the genre (cheap texters) and the device specifically, it only stands to reason that Sprint and LG would be hard at work in the labs cooking up a successor. Rumor has it (please, someone stop us) that the Rumor 2 might come along some time this Spring -- and while we don't know much about the technical capabilities of the device, we wouldn't be surprised to see the new model gain EV-DO, maybe a 2-ish megapixel cam, and of course, the envy of every Rumor owner. Or is that "the enV" of every Rumor owner?

Release date is supposed to be March 15th, along with the Palm Pro.

In the pic, it shows 3G, not EVDO on the internet connection (notice the lightning bolts?)

Hondamini meant 1x, yes, but Sprint calls their 1xRTT "3G" and has since its rollout. Confusing and stupid? Yes.

"Rumor" has it that we're not gonna see EvDO on this one either. Makes sense -- as the Rant currently fulfills the need for an EvDO side-slide dumbphone.

..looks at my Rumor. This new Rumor 2 is ugly! It do got a extra row of keys which is good but why didn't LG put the symbols with the numbers like on a keyboard. The looks way better then this one.

I hate this stupid new interface sprint is putting on all their new phones! It's just like VZW but worse, because VZW actually has good phones. :( I've had sprint for 3 years and they've never had anything cool.

Sprint isnt gonna let one of its hottest selling phones replacement just sit around waiting for a release. Im sure theyre gonna have this out as soon as possible.

My Granma has a Rant and that Interface is kinda annoying but past the home screen everything is normal. Verizon doesnt necessarily have "Better" phones seeing that the ones they get that Sprint has generally come out 6 Months to a Year after the fact but they do have more releases. Id rather have a Sprint phone thats loaded than the same exact phone thats Crippled on Verizon.

Dont think my Cuzzo is gonna get Rid of Her Blue Rumor for this ugly new one tho....

The phone itself is pretty good, in my opinion.
