I'm poor and can't afford an upgrade but I'll make an exception for the Pre, bet it all on Treo. I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! SAVE ME! When the hell is the PRE going to be released! If the PRE requires an "everyting plan," I'm stuck with Pro. *I hate the keyboard: they're soft, squishy, rubbery, *tiny* keys. Worse I think than the Treos I've used in the past and absolutely painful to type on compared to my BlackBerry's.
*Windows Mobile: love it or hate it. I happen to hate it.
*The screen is very nice and a huge upgrade over the 800w.
*It has a standard headphone jack - thank you Palm for putting that back on!
*The side buttons for volume are flush with the side and are hard to find when talking on the phone.
*The speakerphone is pretty good, but I have only tested it on one call.
*I like the clock that displays when the screen is off/asleep
*WiFi seems to work fine.
*The phone gets quite warm when in use. It gets somewhat uncomfortable when held up to your ear for too long.
*Palm hasn't upgraded their camera (other than token upgrades of pixel count) for over 4 years. The one in the Treo Pro takes the same crappy pictures my old Zire used to take. Useless.
*The Windows button on this one gets stuck and has to be pressed hard to get it to click
*SprintTV works great - at least the He-Man clip I tried! :-)
*It's got GPS whith ability to give voice directions (via a cell phone call)

I'm interested in checking battery life. I've had it plugged in and charging for the past hour so I haven't checked the battery life. I'm not holding my breath as the one in the Treo 800w I was testing wouldn't last more than a few hours. Definitely not a breakthrough device, but seems to be a solid WinMo phone if that's your cup-o-tea. Just don't get your hopes up for anything big with this one.]]>Mar 13th 2009 1:01AM
