Apple iPhone Bluetooth Headset now discontinued
Would it be too cruel to say we're shocked it lasted this long? Apple's iPhone Bluetooth Headset never was too popular outside of the hardcore Apple faithful, with a litany of respectable (and let's face it, far superior) alternatives available for a fraction of the $99 MSRP. To that end, Cupertino has seen fit to discontinue the peripheral, though prospective customers can apparently still buy 'em until supply runs dry. Here's a tip, though -- wait for the fire sale.

I'm really bummed and surprised Engadget was not a fan. They never did produce a stand to go with the iPhone 3g. But it was small, good audio quality(never had to many complaints), light weight. The best part was the charging. I didn't have to bring a separate charger when travelling. It was nice packaged accessory to go with my iPhone. Hopefully their is a sequel to this Apple headset? Maybe Apple will finally make their own Bluetooth A2dp stereo headset??? Oh Yeah!
Fire Sale? You do realize you're talking about Apple, right? what would the discount be? The Low, Low Price of $97?
I own this headset. Here is my major qualm with it- I hate that I have my bluetooth off & go to charge the phone and headset at the same time. It causes the bluetooth to turn on and automatically pair. I dont even realize that my bluetooth is on until I get a call. Damn thing drains my battery. I wish Apple had taken the time to build a quality headset like they did with their phone.
I've tried a number of BT headsets and found them all too big.
I just watched the youtube review of the iPhone headset... Finally a headset that is small, thin, and not flashy or blinky. Its the perfect headset "size" and "fashion"... why can't others improve upon this as their base? I bought one on ebay... hope it works with my WinMo phone.
Engadget, please ban this idiot SPAMmer.
form-wise, its the best BT headset I've owned. Durable, well designed.
function, it's so-so. Short range, short battery, buzzy sound, and it pairs when it charges -
I'd still buy one for ~$50 if you can find it. I love the fact that the battery indicator shows up on the iPhone. That's worth $50 alone.
Seems that if you use the headset with non-iPhone phones it works great! Apple really dropped the ball with the marketing on this one. This should have been the baseline for headsets to design from. This is the only bluetooth on the market that:
A) doesn't jut out the side of your head
B) look like you are a bionic moron
C) fits comfortable without hooks or any ear gels
After trying so many others I was glad to find the iphone headset. I use it with my winmo phone and its perfect! Too bad none other design them properly like this.
