Orange expected to launch six Android phones in 2009?
Don't get all hot and bothered just yet, but French site Mobinaute is feeling pretty good about Orange's chances to launch upwards of six Android-based handsets in 2009. Six! Reportedly, the handsets will come from five different vendors: Sony Ericsson, Motorola, LG, Samsung and HTC. We're told that the HTC Hero will definitely be in the mix, but outside of that, details remain few and far between. Not that we really doubt that there will be enough Android phones out by the year's end to make it happen, but it's remarkably refreshing to see this kind of Google love from a carrier.[Via TalkAndroid]

ewww. the PINK phone. HTc hero i think. LOOKs so dam UGLY.. HTC took the chin from the G1 a step farther. or should i say a stepp tooo far!
So is Android in danger of dying on the vine?
Seriously, with ad revenues down for Google and smart phone sales in general down. I seems like an awful long time between Android phones. I guess the same could be said about the Pre. Time will tell if the economy kills these new OS's before they have a chance to mature from v1.0 to v2.0.
I know the WinMo will motor on since so many businesses (like my own) use mobile for push email, but you have to think that the recreational smart phone market is also taking a huge hit these days.
Maybe, just maybe..... ONE of them, will not be un ugly bar of plastic?
The "chin" is going to kill Android. Why all Android phone have to have that fricking ugly chin?!?!
Someone needs to make the designer of these phones disappear mafia style. MR. SIDEKICK DESIGNER, YOU SUCK!
