Yeah what exactly is the point of this? It doesn't offer any huge improvements, aside from maybe smaller frame. But still--no matter how hard I tried, I could never understand what was so special about this phone. Sure it's touchscreen and the UI has some pretty neat tricks in its integration, but the screen sucks, it's resistive, and the camera is definitely something to laugh at.
And what in the world is "S30" supposed to mean to the commonfolk??
Have you ever used an Instinct, carcomptoy, or are you talking in generalization?
Because I use both the Instinct and the iPhone on a daily basis (Sprint is my corporate acount) and there is little to no difference in the touch screen of the Resistive Instinct and the Capacitive iPhone. If anything, the Apple is a bit of a pain to use, as you cannot use a fingernail or the end of a pen/pencil.
I also have a "capacitive" Samsung screen on my YP-P2. It's terrible compared to both the iPhone and Instinct. Unresponsive all the time.
Samsung seems to generally do the resistive touchscreens better than anyone else. If you've used an LG or Motorola touch, it's a different affair, you really need to push the display, which is just annoying.
In comparison, the Instinct and iPhone are G-R-E-A-T at responding with even the slightest flick/touch. There are a lot of deficiencies with the Instinct, but the resisitve screen generally isn't one of them.
yawn touch pro camera > iphone camera. 'nuff said.
I actually have used the Instinct on multiple occasions, and many times, I feel unsatisfied. Sure it has the give to let you know you pressed it, but for some reason, it just doesn't "click" with me. Not that I want the click like with the Storm, but it just seems really ungratifying on the Instinct. I mean, if it's fine with you, to each his own, but that's just my observation.
