T-Mobile's 2009 3G rollout schedule leaked?
It hasn't been verified, but optimistic T-Mobile customers aching to get a little broadband on the beach might want to schedule their trips to Honolulu around Q4 -- at least if you're willing to believe this 3G rollout schedule that's apparently being sent out this morning. Other notable cities on the list include Milwaukee, Tucson, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Nashville and Salt Lake City, as well as a wide swath of Texas. We're poking around for confirmation -- at the very least, this list doesn't contradict anything T-Mo's said in the past, but we'll let you know.

So will Indianapolis be the last city? Unless I missed it, doesn't look like their on the list yet for the upgrade.
It was bad enough their data network was down all Sunday night....
That sprint CDMA/GSM Touch Pro 2 is looking better and better. ;)
it seems that Indiana is missed all together, well my contract is over by June, and if I don't have 3G in Northern Indiana by then, I am switching to AT&T
LOL....Looks like I'm not the only one upset that Indy is getting no love whatsoever.
That list is NOT COMPLETE.
My god, blogs reporting blogs reporting blogs = no fact checking. At least read the comments before you copy/paste "news" "stories".
I would not hold your breath for 3G service in Indy, but if you are concerned you probably already know this. I was a loyal T-Mobile customer of almost 8 years in the Indy market, dating back to VoiceStream. I waited and waited and waited, and finally got tired of everyone having faster phones than me. I actually like to use my phone to stream music, sync with Exchange, and be my primary source of information.
I made the switch to AT&T in December and even went to the dark side for an iPhone. I can say that the phone has a lot to offer, a lot to learn, and that I do not miss the crappy T-Mobile edge service. I have seen speeds on the AT&T up to 2.1 Mbps and can stream most ShoutCast stations without issue. When I do drop to Edge, Slacker runs like a champ.
Was it hard to switch from T-Mobile. There was a bit of pride involved because I was one of a few people that I knew who were on T-Mobile, but in the end data rules. They need to get their stuff in order, or people will continue to leave the slowest network of the bunch. If the speed picks up and they come out with a killer Android phone that also syncs with Outlook, I will gladly consider a return to the T-Mobile family!
I stream shoutcast (128kbps) stations all day long on my G1 on EDGE. Not sure where you're at, but EDGE around my area (St Louis) is surprisingly sufficient. Even when I went to Dallas, Memphis, and KC which all of TMO 3g, I found that I didn't do anything different on 3g that I couldn't do on EDGE. Music streaming (imeem, shoutcast), youtube, GPS (telenav), browsing, online poker, etc... Only the music was quicker to buffer by a few seconds. Hell, I even tethered my laptop to my phone when I had a power outage, and did work on EDGE and it surprised me how quick EDGE really is. I thought it was going to feel like dialup, but it actually loaded everything I needed for work quickly.
really omaha, nevada? so much for omaha, nebraska
Yay for Salem, OR. My friends will be happy
YESSS!! I'm part of that swath in Texas, McAllen, Tx. Now if we can get a word on that G2 or G3!
either way I am leaving T-Mobile for AT&T. T-Mobile has had more than adequate time to get something going and all they have done is get the G1 and raised the price of internet on Edge. I am in Indiana and by the time 3G is here Sprint will have 4G starting up and AT&T will be rolling out 4G a month or 2 after. Pathetic!
