At this point there's little doubt that a new iPhone model (
possibly two) will at least be
announced in June. Now the
Commercial Times have chimed in with a report saying that components from Taiwan-based suppliers have begun shipments as Apple (or its China-based assemblers, rather) readies for a "June launch" pegged by said suppliers to reach about 2-3 million units per quarter. A phone that looks to be fitted with a
3.2 megapixel still /
video CMOS camera, digital compass (magnetometer), possibly
802.11n,
more storage, and all the
MMS, copy/paste, and push-notifications you can shake a gesticulating finger at. Assuming all the firmware sleuthing and rumors are true, of course.
Well, I can't wait to get rid of my 8100 and have a real 3G device in June.
Nobody cares about this crap!!!!!
Speak for yourself.
Really??? Nobody???
Last time I checked, millions of people owned an iPhone.
Yeah speak for yaself, its usually those "Storm" Users that hate on the iPhone. "haha" This dude made two phones and it shit on companies that have been doing it for years. Although you might not care, apple dont give a shit bout u either, cause with you or not, they making there money, and that new iPhone will still sell, regardless to what people like you say.
I dont even have an iPhone, great device... just not for me. Doesn't mean i dont care...lol
What ever man, this phone rocks.
If this rumor is true, this puts the iPhone in a great spot to once again rule the market this year. Sprint and Palm need to hurry their asses up if they hope to have any chance of success with the Pre. I'm with AT&T right now and have been awaiting the Pre in hopes that it will be released by mid-May at the latest - then switch to Sprint. However, if I find out that Apple has announced an iPhone with physical QWERTY and all of the features of 3.0, I might be very reluctant to switch and pick up the new iPhone instead.
I'm really rooting for the little guys (Sprint and Palm) and hope they come through, but if Apple plays their cards right like they usually do, they'll continue to dominate and this phone will be the proof.
So, let me get this straight: once again, millions of lemmings are lined up to follow the Apple hype machine without questioning anything, dish out loads of cash for a device that has been playing (and continues to play) catch-up for the past couple of years and is just now barely up to par with other devices on the market.
I continue to be amazed by the human psyche....
YAH THATS WUT US LEMMIGS DO
ENJOI UR BROKED PHONE LOL I BET U HAS BOOST MOBIL NOKLA KIRF
WHERE U AT DAWG?
But seriously, that's way too much drama to post on a story about a story about a rumor. I'm sure that the deep implications of the 'human psyche' are all messed up. You should probably stop watching '80s Big Brother TV shows...you're starting to get paranoid.
There are two kinds of people in this world: the lemmings and the people who take advantage of the lemmings. You don't have to understand the human psyche, the important part is that the lemmings are very willing to dish out loads of cash to you. Make the most of it.
Oh mighty one. Please do explain your superior psyche to us lemmings please!
Unless there is some spectacular hardware/software innovation that hasn't been leaked to the press yet, I see no reason to upgrade my current iPhone 3G. Video and a compass are nice, but if it is limited to the new hardware only it isn't nearly enough to make me drop the cash and re-up for another two years.
I'll wait for my current 2 year to be up and see what Apple and others release in Q2/Q3 2010.
I'm with you... My 3G is a great device, it's blown me away with the things that it can do. But I'm not willing to pony up for the next gen device until my current contract is up. I suspect timing is to get the first gen iPhone user to re-up and move over to the new device.
i wanna see how this one is gonna turn out. are they gonna play it safe like always or bring some innovation ... maybe a 12mpx or 128gb ... oh how about a screen that can unfold.
if the new iphone is different enough would it still be under the exclusivity deal with att ? so could it come to verizon ?
