Palm Pre launching no earlier than May 16 according to leaked doc?

We've been made privy to some Sprint planning documentation that implies that the carrier is looking to get all its Pre ducks in a row by May 16, which would suggest that there's no way in hell it's launching any earlier than that. Ultimately, that could mean we're looking at a launch on the 17th -- a Sunday, as Sprint launches often are -- or any time after that, but since Palm continues to reaffirm its first half commitment, we'd say that we're now down to a window between 5/17 and 6/30. Awesome.

WTF kind of Sprint document is this? I haven't ever seen a Sprint doc that looks like that.

Well this leak matches up well with this story saying the launch date will either be 5-17-09 or 6-29-09 (which is a Monday?) depending on stock received.

I have Sprint, but the cheapest phone on practically the cheapest basically 400 mins./mo. plan with NOTHING else. My question is, if I get the Pre, could I keep the plan? Or will Sprint force me to get one of those Everything plans? I just want the phone for the wi-fi capability if I happen to be within a signal.

I will be more inclined to believe it if some of the earlier events do indeed happen. Take "www.sprint.com/learn updated with new devices" for example - should be happening today, but hasn't as yet.........................

It looks like the document belongs to the web development team at Sprint....the changes listed are all website related.

its not a web devel doc. it is a retail launch chart. s30 is scheduled for sunday...they were received in retail today.

Just got back from the local Sprint store. I asked about the Palm Pre. I was told the phone is not coming out until June 2009. I told the rep about the rumors of the phone coming out Mat 16th, so she checked with her manager. After 5 minutes she came back out and said not till June. BTW she did not get any hands on yet
