Why would the slide have to be open to take a pic / shoot video?
It doesn't have to be. It's just how people sometimes work the phone. If you look through the 4 other photos, you'll see the guy/kid on the left has his in landscape mode snapping a picture.
@Ese if you look closely, the kid on the left snapping a picture in landscape still has his keyboard slid out.
Nice, I was sorta surprised to see 2 teens holding them. The comments on the photo made me laugh a little...

The second pic looks so fake. Come on people, anyone with eyes sees how fake the second pic is. The first is more convincing, but I call fake.
Looks real to me. I don't know what about it looks fake. Question is, how did these dbags get a Pre already??
So it's not suspicious to you that the only picture of it head on is blurry as hell when all the other action pictures (with the Pre at a distance) are much clearer?
The second picture looks like a disaster. I can see the cracks and lines in the boys hand, but I can even make out the buttons? The shadow and lighting on the Pre also looks wrong to me compared to the shadows and lighting everywhere else.
They could very well be the kids of a head honcho at Sprint or Palm, sure, but the picture quality is so crappy and fake looking to me.
@Jonathan; Well no.. When you zoom in any camera, if it's a digital zoom (which all camera phones have) it will get distorted and blurry. When you leave it at "1X" zoom level, the picture will be more clean and clear. This isn't $1000 camera equipment or even a $100 digital camera.. it's a camera phone with a fixed lens.

If it's a fake it's a pretty good one. Look at the second pic, the LCD matches exactly what he taking a picture of, lighting, red pants, and even the girl in the white, whom you can see in the 1st pic.
He is pointing the phone at the ground and the screen is from a different angle. IMO its a fake but Hell i can be wrong.

These pictures are NOT actual Palm Pre's. At most they are mock-ups which have started to hit some Sprint corporate stores.
The pre does not shoot video.
Um, they never said it doesn't shoot video, they have only said "we are not announcing it at this time"
I'm almost certain it does shoot video
