T-Mobile retools offerings, adds new family plan and more unlimited M2M
T-Mobile's always been known for aggressively pricing its plans against the other nationals, and that trend continues today with the introduction of a new $89.99 myFaves family plan with 1800 minutes, the addition of 500 anytime minutes to its $99.99 and $129.99 family plans, a $10 reduction in price on a couple other plans, and -- perhaps the most relevant new feature for many customers -- unlimited mobile-to-mobile on every individual plan $49.99 and up. Not a huge change, granted, but it's pretty rare to get something for nothing, so we're going to take what we're being offered and keep our mouths shut.

We were offered a Preferred plan: $49.99 for 600 Whenever Minutes, Nights/Weekends Unlimited, and I could have sworn we still had MyFaves. But I just checked and now under Services it says Minutes under MyFaves is N/A.
But looking at my bill it still shows "Pref myFaves feat SL myFaves Minutes Minutes Unlimited "
We also have Unlimited Messaging for Family at $9.99
I just called T-Mobile because I was getting to the end of bill-close and was about 50 minutes over, so I was going to switch to the next tier up temporarily, but they offered me two deals for being with them for over 5 years, both family plans:
1) 1500 anytime minutes (MyFaves) with 1-year extension for $89.99/mo
2) unlimited anytime minutes with no contract extension for $89.99/mo
Obviously I went with option#2
My wife and I are on the old MyFaves for Families 800, which is for the same price as the MyFaves for Familes 400 ($69.99). We get asked all the time to switch to the unlimited loyalty plan for $89.99/mo for 2 lines, but since each of our 5 is family and we hardly use the 800 minutes each month, we don't bother thinking about switching plans.
Now the Unlimited messaging for families at $9.99 - where did you get that? My unlimited messaging for families still runs at $19.95 per month!
They just offered it up. We had the original price for Unlimited Family Texting. I looked at the per line service, which would have been 4.99 x 3 lines. They offered the 9.99 price for all lines. You might want to check the price as well. If it's just you and your wife, the per line unlimited texting is cheaper, isn't it? If nothing else, they might offer you the same deal.
kill em all TMO!
"Gee Wally, that sure does sound like a good deal.... but what if if my family are heavy texters and like to Twitter as well??"
"Swell question, Beav, if thats the case then you'd probably want to go to Sprint where you can get 1500 minutes with unlimited text and unlimited data for $129 for 2 lines then $19.99 each for 3 more lines. You heard about the 10 year old that didnt have a texting plan right?? Father smashed her phone with a hammer. Lets go tell Dad that we want to get Sprint. And i want that new Samsung Instinct Mini.. thats just swell"
*i work for obvisously work for a phone carrier, but its still a good deal.*
Not! Not only does that plan suck, but Sprint sucks as well.
