I love my Moto, but this is once again another proprietary radio. I do public safety in Illinois. Our county operates on 800 Mhz trunked radios. Motorola's 800 Mhz radios will not interoperate. We used to have all Moto radios when we had vhf, but now we had to go elsewhere to prevent ourself from being trapped. This new private iden radio looks great, but upgrading and changing later will prove to be horribly expensive.
