And they are working for years on they operating system and it's still full of bugs and it's completely raw.
I wonder why Microsoft is never ashamed for all those troubles with their Operating Systems? Any other brand would feel bad for releasing not finished product on the market. It's incredible! They loose they credibility, because of it! And they are so many versions of they OS!!! SUCH A MESS!!!!!!!

MICROSOFT NEEDS ONLY MONEY!!!!!! That's why they have so many versions of operating systems and they are so expensive, and when you have a Windows computer you have to spend a fortune on all that software(even basic) and hardware and still there is no guaranty that it would work!!!!!!!!!
Instead of releasing all those millions of new versions of the different kink of OS they would better improved those which already exist.

I've had a WM phone and it worked alright. Except that HTC was making it with a 201mhz CPU and 64mb of ram.
I played with one with 524mhz and 128mb and it was butter.
Looking at an unlocked Treo Pro but that has a 400mhz cpu - how do those fair?
i've been using WinMo for a while now and it's a great OS, it just looks dated. i get so tired of having to defend it all the time. it's not the OS, it's the hardware manufacturers that stick the OS on devices that can't handle it without testing it properly and the carriers that load them up with bloatware. put a slick UI on it from a 3rd party company and WinMo runs like a dream (i use SPB Mobile Shell).
I had to carry a company-issue Blackjack once when traveling. At first, I hated it because I was used to my Treo. Once I got accustomed to WinMo, however, I decided that it actually funtioned pretty darn well. Nothing flashy; it just worked.
By the way, that BlackJack didn't freeze up once. I had to reboot my Treo 2-3 times a week. My current Blackberry is even less stable!

The only reason that Windows is so big is because Microsoft hugely advertised it. It's all PR, no one swear by it.Everyone says that all Microsoft products are buggy. I've never heard for several years already anything good about Windows. They steal all ideas from other companies, there is nothing new in their products.

Wow, If you have an iPhone(or any Apple product), u shouldn't be talking with ur uncustomizable OS.... all of y'all walk around with phones that look the same and the same home screens dat iz so sad cuz sometime I feel like u guys are in some cult the way y'all have don't have ur own personality and attack other phones dat ain't the iPhone ..... Sometimes I think u guys talk shid about WinMo cuz y'all can't do as much on an iPhone as a WinMo phone, you'all kno dat true without a doubt....
And actually the idea of windows interface was stolen from Apple by Bill Gates! Even the name "Windows" is too obvious here! Too lame!
Actaully... Steve Jobs stole it from Xerox, so it's more of karma than anything else.
Somehow I don't think WQVGA is in the works. VGA and QVGA seem more likely.
Where are the windows in Windows Mobile?? They need to rebrand it...
You have to wonder about MS...I have been using WinMo on the Mogul and now the TouchPro...and I am more and more convinced that MOST iPhone users and lovers are sheep. Sure, its pretty and sure its user friendly...but when it comes down to it...Apple hides so much of what they do under the hood its pretty ridiculous. Customize? what's that with an iPhone.
I frequent a couple of forums out there ... xda...for example...and the things that are accomplished in that community is pretty astonishing...esp when you know those are users of the device just like you!
I've sampled 6.5 and not sure I'm sold yet. I still love 6.1...and yes I SWEAR BY IT!
If you have a WinMo device, I suggest you check out what has been cooked up out there...to get the MOST out of your device!
Reading these comments it makes me cry when i dare to think what the age and IQ of the average Engadget reader is.

me like da blakbary storme and all other phones suck. lol jk I love all the phones in the world the same even the oldschool bag phones.
Guys... It's a theme. I almost worked with the guy that made it and he put in quite a bit of time and effort into the thing. Sure it may not be WM7 but it's the closest thing to it at the moment. It looks great and works quite well.
Sure Microsoft may be sitting on their asses up in Redmond but many users love WM for it's business integration and multitasking. No other device can compare. Also being a Windows Mobile user for years I will swear by it. If you know how to tweak it and work with it correctly, it beats the iPhone by a mile. In fact, I can't use an iPhone because of how sluggish the thing is.
That's my opinion. Other users may be iPhone fanatics and good for them. Please stop putting other users down because you "don't like" their opinion or think "they're inferior." Please stop looking like a bunch of simpletons.
I hope this makes it to VGA devices... I'd give it a shot. And for the record, I'm really enjoying WM6.5 so far - so much that I've pretty much forgotten about HTC's TF3D.
