Red LG Lotus in stock with Sprint for $49.99

There's all sorts of good news going on here: first of all, the third Lotus color, red, is now officially available at retail from Sprint, making good on the carrier's promise of mid-April availability. Second, in case you haven't noticed, the $99.99 price tag has dropped all the way down to $49.99 on contract after discounts, making the fattest, stubbiest flip in Sprint's lineup more affordable than ever. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, this is a really great dumbphone. My gf has the purple one and the build quality is fantastic. Nice soft-matte finish, light yet solid feel, great hinge, keyboard is one of the best I've used, and it just feels all-around high quality build. I'd love it with WinMo Standard on it (which I've heard rumours of them doing).

Also, the form factor seemed weird to me at first, but after playing with hers, it makes good sense. A qwerty flip. Not too bad. It certainly helps that the phone is pretty light weight.

I've had this phone since November (in black) and I couldn't agree more. This is a really quality phone, and would do well with a smart phone OS on it. The keyboard is definitely the best part, I'd love to see this style on more phones!

My gf has one of these too. It really is a surprisingly good phone, a really capable dumbphone with good battery life. The browser could be better but it will run Opera.

i thought this was the ugliest thing i'd ever seen when it first came out.
i played with it at the store and still thought it was weird.
i had a red razr which sucked ass but the size was great. so i bought a used blackberry 8703e from a site and i love it except it looks outdated and has no camera and its no fun. im a teen. too businessy for me. but i just wanted a keyboard. ANYWHO it keeps unlocking itself in my bag and calls my contacts. so i researched the lotus again and i am in love with it. especially the red. i hate purple and the black is boring. i can't wait to get this! it seems a thousand times better than the rant which looks way too big and bulky and the rumor is just horrible. this is the phone for me. yay!
