Keepin' it real fake, part CC: HiPhone Nano N3+ is crazy beautiful

Yes, KIRF number two hundred is a special affair. The HiPhone Nano N3+ is one of those knockoffs that transcends the category and is just plain awesome all on its own. We can't vouch for its performance or build of course, but the N3+ clamshell is part iPhone, part RAZR, and part iPod, with a little bit of Star Trek: TNG attitude thrown in for good measure. Seriously, though guys: we weren't kidding when we hinted (told you) that this would be a perfect birthday gift. June 15th. Think about it. Oh, and Happy 200th KIRFday, Engadget! One more glorious shot after the break.

hey it looks pretty good ^^
Not bad, but it sorta reminded me of the 6260, n90, etc nokia flip phones
It really does! And hell, at $189, I would use this for a little while if I was still on GSM.
It does look pretty nice. A good concept. lol the name HiPhone.
Yeah, I think the stupid name is the only KIRF-y thing about it. Seems like it would sell well on its own merits, why give it a stupid name?
Does it come in red?
Look at that thing.. It's beautiful. I'd seriously pay good money for that.
It's probably better than my C902 Platinum.
If its built anywhere near as good as it looks, and 'sported Symbian or similar, i'd have one in a seccond. Unfortunately i doubt it is well built (physically or OS).
Give it to me in black put a screen on the front then we can call it a true Kirf. Also lol there is this one Kirf made on a concept art for an SE made by a fan. Imagine if fans copyrighted their work and their phone was made. Kaching!
Happy KIRF-200 Engadget!
It got here faster than we all thought it would, eh?
I don't think this quite deserves a KIRF, other than its name. Very cool looking phone.
Also, how exactly is it "part iPhone"?
It could be just because the name...
It's just the phone part of the iPhone.
How about some KIRF-Give-a-ways?
Wow this thing lokos cool.. has anyone ever bought anything from the chinagrabber website.. is it legit??
I really like that form factor, I wish it was seen more often on legitimate phones.
I'm buying this over pre.
So am I now a hipbone fanboy,?
Definitely.
reminds me of a Palm device....
Tungsten?
Hm, not sure if Palm ever did anything, but it looks kind of like some of the Sony Clie models, which did run Palm OS. (Though they shoved a whole QWERTY in there, not just a alphanumeric keypad)
That thing probably has copy/paste
A usable keypad. nice.
If it's cheaper than an iPhone, i'll buy it.
No you won't.
Engadget, this isn't even a KIRF. You guys have to learn to stop calling things KIRFs when they are not at all.
I see iPod...but not iPhone...nor RAZR.
This reminds me more of a Samsung phone with an iPod front...
Cmon now...reaching is not good...
Is it just me, or is there a hint of Sony Ericsson-esque style in this thing? Sweet styling, anyway.
Yeah...I can see even that.
But I see NO iPhone...
Engadget is getting a lil too carried away on this "OMG they copied iPhone" tirade.
the name alone does not qualify this phone as a KIRF, it's not imitating any other phone
Why not give it a try if only CALLING and perhaps fashion is your style?
Good looking...Aluminiun case...for $190...I`ll give it a try..
Really, Laura June and some Engadget writers have to stop the Keepin' it real fake, series. This also apply to other technology writes. They seems at times to know less than their readers about the current state of technology and design of products.
Looks like my old sharp limited edition ferrai phone 902sh i think was the model
That looks awesome.
This looks interesting!
looks very cheaply made because it obviously is...probably won't last more than few months
Heh.. June 15th is actually my birthday :-)
omg, june 15 is my birthday too :O
