T-Mobile Germany website indicates May launch for Cupcake

It's not exactly a huge surprise considering that the Cupcake-powered HTC Magic is confirmed to be coming out May 5th, but T-Mobile Germany's website now looks to have also confirmed that the Cupcake update itself will also be rolling out to G1 users sometime the same month -- in Germany, at least. That'll of course bring with it the much-desired on-screen keyboard, along with video recording, stereo Bluetooth support, and some new integration with Picasa and YouTube, among other fixes and additions. As you can see above, the update will "skillfully" install itself on your G1 as soon as it's available, so you needn't do anything except go on about your daily business in the meantime, or check the interwebs furiously for a means of jumping the cue.

Video recording and Stereo Bluetooth!?, I hadn't realized these would be included with cupcake. A nice surprise considering an onscreen keyboard is something I'll rarely (if ever) use when there is a physical one right there. Any word on widgets?
There will indeed be widgets. Some Android OS devs showed the code to write a "Word of the Day" from Dictionary.com: http://android-developers.blogspot.com/2009/04/introducing-home-screen-widgets-and.html and a regular Android developer guy wrote a widget to display weather: http://www.jsharkey.org/blog/2009/04/24/forecast-widget-for-android-15-with-source/
There's also cool stuff like "Live Folders" you could have a live folder on your desktop that has: "Starred Contacts with Phone Numbers". There's other cool stuff too...
Also, as far as not needing the on-screen keyboard...I don't want to have to always open the keyboard and put wear on the hinge just to type "ok" in a text message or type in a 10-character URL so i really want it.
INteResting!!! I need me some CupCake SOon!!!!
Seriously? you guys def told us that cupcake was coming in April, and even teased us with the April 22nd "special announcement". Now you are telling us it's coming in May, to Germany. This really calls your credibility into question. As in why would this be any truer than anything you guys have said before. Then again, you guys have been pretty reliable in terms of news in general so i guess we'll just keep on looking and hoping and maybe just maybe, they'll tell us when cupcake comes out.
Hey Donald,
just as an FYI, perhaps you shouldn't make fun of someone or something when relying on babelfish, google translators or the like.
The word "skillfull" does not appear in the original German text - it says "every google update will be **sent** to your phone automatically".
It is going to be after the release date the you've seen for Germany. T-Mobile wants to "ensure a good experience" so aka, it's not coming out at the same time. I can confirm this.
