Video iPhone to feature iMovie App?
Apple rumors seem especially rampant in this year's run-up to the Worldwide Developers Conference. While all the recent fuss has focused upon a rumored 10-inch device that fits somewhere in between Apple's MacBooks and iPod touch, these poor ol' iPhone rumors just can't get any attention. Riiight. The latest has BusinessWeek offering further testimonial that video recording will be heavily featured in the summer release of the 3.0 firmware and presumed third generation iPhone. According to a source familiar with Apple's plans, the next iPhone will make shooting video super simple and feature an iMovie App that enables on-phone editing and uploads direct to YouTube. If true it would certainly be a welcomed update for first and second gen iPhone users and something we'd expect Apple to tout loudly as a major new feature on a new device or two sporting beefier cameras.

Yay, another feature that Apple will blow out of proportion with regards to their innovation! It was them that did Applications and Media Playing on phones first, right? *HUGE EYEROLL*
If it has video, of course it's going to have a video editor. And apple are going to claim it's the world's first, game-changing, etc, when really any Sony Ericsson freephone sold in the west has had a video editor for years.
It's not about being first, when others had it for years. It's about having it better and easier to use.
refer to alvin's comment below, tool.
great. wouldn't this absolutely tank the battery life though?

Come on apple, people werent born yesterday i can do that on my N73 for crying out loud.
They added video recording, multimedia messaging etc and called it the NEW OS 3.0. What a joke.
Yup. Apple will claim it's the world's first video recording phone, PLUS it has editing capability.
On a side note, anyone else find it hilarious that Apple's app commercial for small business owners talks about their scanning program, yet they use Windows scanners in their Apple stores...
Apple don't use Windows scanners. Those that they use run on another proprietary OS.
@m3tric: There's no such thing as a "Windows scanner". Apple don't make scanners and don't think Microsoft do. But all the major brands (Canon, Epson, HP, the likes) work with both Windows and Mac.
Again, it's not about being first. Sony Ericssons can run circles around what iPhone can do....the only difference is, apple makes it 100% easier.
And they had this all along. There was just no reason to release it all those years ago with 1st gen. Now, with competitors coming out (Android, Pre, etc) all Apple has to do is flip a switch and make those features available.
My contract goes up this summer for AT&T. Hmm, should I get a new Android phone or Palm Pre....
...nah I'll just get whatever new iPhone is out ;)
