"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
I'm not trying to toot Apple's horn here, but Palm should realize that a launch prior to the traditional iPhone release date is not going to win them as many trigger-happy consumers as they would like. It's more like a shoot-yourself-in-the-foot move, because I guarantee you people that are willing to jump ship from their current carrier will wait the week in between launches to see what Apple's new iPhone has to offer. And more than likely, they'll give into the iPhone's allure.
i agree completely. i'm a long time Palm supporter, but you have to be realistic here, people fricken love the iPhone. with Apple having a conference coming up, one where they are expected to reveal a new iPhone, i would think it would be in Palm's best interest to get the Pre out a couple weeks before the conference. otherwise, this thing could be over before it started.
