Sanyo SCP-2700 now available on Sprint; inspires busy thumbs, not much else
As promised, the SCP-2700 has come to Sprint, bringing that famous Sanyo... ah, "sensibility" to the low-cost QWERTY game. Don't expect EV-DO, but you'll still make off with AGPS, a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and a dedicated text button (surprisingly important in this market segment) for your hard-earned $29.99 on contract in your choice of Impulsive Pink and Deep Blue.

I work for RadioShack, and our Sprint rep brought this phone in yesterday to show us so we'd know a bit about it before we got them in stock. I was pretty impressed actually - seemed like a pretty good quality piece for such a low price. The keyboard is very usable, although the keys were a little loose and jiggly it seemed, but nothing that would bother me or most likely anyone else using it. The lack of EVDO hurts, but this device isn't for people who want to do major web browsing anyway. The email integration is pretty damn good for a low end device. Camera is serviceable for the market segment they are going after (tweens and soccer moms) and the screen itself was bright and clear. It looks like it should be a winner for the cheap qwerty phone market, especially at the mentioned $29.99. Only complaint was that its not a music phone and there's no microSD slot, but for the market they're aiming for, they don't need it.
I signed up with Sprint on Saturday May 16, 2009. The Pink Sanyo SPC-2700 caught my eye right away. I was looking at getting a Blackberry for $99.99 but then I saw this cute phone for $29.99 and was sold. The internet is pretty fast and I can get on all the websites that I want... Facebook/Myspace/Ebay Mobile/Hotmail...etc. The only downside for some people is you CANNOT watch tv, youtube on this phone and there is no music player. I dont need these things so it is great for people like me. It also does not have a MicroSD slot which is not a big deal tome. I have 250 contacts that were transferred over also.
I am very happy with my new phone :)
