LG enV3 gets customer hands-on ahead of release
You might think you need to wait until May 29 to get your hands on an env3, and... well, odds are good that you're right -- but if you keep calling Verizon enough, magic can happen. One persistent customer finally got through to a sales rep uninformed enough to sell her the device well ahead of launch -- which leads us to wonder why the carrier's computers even allow that kind of crazy gaffe to occur in the first place -- but at any rate, we've been treated to a quick hands-on as a result of the error. The lucky customer seems to like the device, ultimately choosing to keep it over an Alias 2 she'd recently obtained; we're not sure we'd make the same call ourselves, but then again, we're suckers for E-Ink and we haven't used an env3. Follow the break for the video, or get on the horn with Verizon if you want one of these now -- who knows, you might get lucky.

Oh no! Not "JenJen" again!
Yeah I know, she did better this time though.
I'd probably take it over the Alias as well. The keyboard looks more usable and it has HTML browsing.
Looks like a nice phone. The design is much sleeker than the enV2. But is the GUI font Comic Sans? WHY?!?!
definitely a phone I look forward to....I'll wait until the enV Touch comes out and decide which one to go for.
This biotch is retarded....can we please have someone with a decent knowledge of the phone before they do a crack pot review? I didn't even get to see the web browser. Is it too much to ask for proper annunciation these days? For instance, the word "to" does not need to be lazily thrown out of her worthless lips as "tuh."
Ok, I am done with the rant.
Good lookin' futuristic two-way communicatin' doohickey.....mind your blog while I strum my banjo.
Screw off, you jerk...if you don't like her reviews, then don't watch them. She's far from retarded; in fact I think you are probably closer.
first of all, you don't even know her so you have no right to call her a "biotch"
second, this isn't etiquette class so she can talks however she wants to and she's no where NEAR retarded, so you're definition of retarded is null.
Wow....I am truly sorry I offended your precious phone reviewer JenJen. I actually do have every right to call her a "biotch" for the simple fact that I did, and it happened. I am also sorry I made you cry big tears in your fruit loops; dry those eyes and snap your goofy ass suspenders big guy. You and JenJen can be helmet buddies and review phones for me all you want ok?
Seriously, you are really defending a person in an internet video. I am going to go ahead and go out on a limb here, but JenJen probably will never date you, nor will her phone.
I guess you are right about me having mental problems...hahaha you computer jockeys kill me with your witty comebacks.
Thanks for the entertainment! And A+ on your phone review, computer internet video biotch. Speech therapy is only a few clicks away on that nifty enV3 of yours.
@SteveBando
Man you just made my day man, lolz
+1 to you sir.
The only thing this phone is missing is an Opera based browser, and wifi, other than that it got pretty much everything I would like out of a phone. A hardware qwerty and thread sms.
No I'm going to agree with el Hefe Weizen. She is pretty... hmmm... blond? I just wont be as mean about it. And besides who else has a review of this phone yet? Dur dur dur.
Looks good.. somehow sleeker (thinner) than the EnV2. Though I think I like the face of the EnV2 a little better. I liked the big keys, much better for dialing, and single-handed quick texting, which is about everything you should be doing with the phone closed anyway.
I've always really liked this form factor.. I'm still hopeful it will catch on (though it doesn't seem like it will) and other manufacturers will start doing the same. The only reason I haven't gotten one is I hate Verizon, and I'm not a fan of LG either. Now, if Sony Ericsson made a phone like that.. and put their sweet UI on them.. and some of that great performing J2ME... and multitasking... drool... who needs a Blackberry!
If I wasn't headed towards blackberry town for my next phone, this would be very appealing. I love my enV2 and this looks like a good evolution. Threaded texting is superwin
that sms is far better than the current verizon system
i am hoping it is the same on the env touch so i have something nice to replace my voyager with
2 questions:
1) Can you do EMS messaging from the external screen?
2) Is it Rev.A capable data, or just Rev.0?
I moved away from my enV2 mainly cuz I could only do 160-character SMS from the external.
The larger external screen and html browser is a big plus, for me.
lol, my Verizon rep didn't know anything about this phone...not even that it existed... nor the Env Touch, aka Voyager 2.
it's actually out already
