Nokia N97 hitting 75 countries in June
If you had any doubt about the reach of Nokia, the world's leading mobile handset maker, then check this: Nokia just announced the simultaneous June launch of its flagship N97 in more than 75 countries. We already had hints of this for the US and Western Europe but it's good to have it official. And with N97 chatter on the uptick recently, we're expecting to see this 3.5-inch QWERTY touchscreen slider running S60 5th sooner rather than later.

Finally !!!
As most Nokia phones the N97 won't have the biggest specifications, nor the cheapest price... but it should be as always heavily fonctionnal ! A good phone, a 5mpx cam but a GOOD one (not like the Omnia), reliable software with regular updates, a good battery life and something well build. My N95 and my N70 both fall in my bath and both survived, which i would try with samsungs and some other brands devices ^^
i'd love to get an N97, but $700 (current preorder price) is too rich for my blood. Around the time that it launches, the Touch Pro 2 should hit AT&T. i'd gladly renew my contract for a subsidized rate as the price on the N97 drops a bit. Of course, the Satio won't be too far behind.
i wish the touch pro 2 would have a standart 3.5mm jack :( I'm really torn between WinMo 6.5 & S60. I love Nokia and Symbian has in efficiency what it lacks in appeal, but being a winmo developper i love winmo possibilities, and 6.5 looks good !
@smover
Yeah, i love both the efficiency and simplicity of S60, and the fact that WinMo is so customizable. Overall, i feel the N97 is a slightly more well-rounded package than the Touch Pro 2 -- better camera with dedicated shutter button, dual flash and lens cover, a standard 3.5mm head phone jack, and enough built-in memory to function as a media player with the option of additional expansion. But the high res screen of the Touch Pro 2, the keyboard (which looks better than the N97's), and the possibilities of Windows Mobile really appeal to me. It's going to be an expensive summer. :)
Also, Amazon lists the N97 at $603. i'd still like to see it in the $550 range, but that's the cost of early adoption.
Venezuela, please XD
hope this Device gets a capacitive multitouch down the line instead of the current resistive one, Then I would literally own a device that Pwns :P
