It's not every day that you see a manufacturer include an FCC filing-esque shot of a phone's innards as an official teaser, but then again, there isn't much that's ordinary about the way that
Samsung's promising to reveal its latest model. The "Samsung Unpacked" event kicks off in three cities around the globe -- London, Dubai, and Singapore -- on June 10, when winners of a competition will start tearing off layers of some magical box, finally reaching the core on the 15th at which point the new model will be revealed to an astonished world. If we were selected to start opening the box on the 10th, mark our words, we'd bust right through to the juicy stuff... which probably explains why we haven't been selected. Anyhow, pictured here is the rear of the set in x-ray vision, so we'd venture to guess it's a candybar or a QWERTY slider -- but maybe more importantly, what OS is it running?

I think its one of the New Samsung touch screen phones that people have been talking about.
I dont get it. Why does the ad say 5 June? They are reveal specs then but we don't get to see the phone til the 15th?
I hope it's THAT Samsung with the specifications of the Omnia HD and Windows Mobile 6.5 !!
I hope the same thing, but with Android.
Windows Mobile, Yes? I really hope so. Samsung deserves so much better than Android.
You know what a T-Mobile employee told me when I was switching to my BlackBerry from my old G1? He said, that there might be a kit for Android to port Windows Mobile over to your device... uhh YES!!
If that is the case, then Windows Mobile is supporting Capacitive! Does any of that sound like it makes sense?

That's why they are announcing it in London, Dubai & Singapore and not in the US.
Kinda looks like the layout of the Instinct S30 with some of the sides buttons reversed but a little fatter. I wonder if its going to be the launch of the Instinct 2 which also has rounded corners somewhat the same layout and is fatter. Hope Hope!
Sad that while you guys are all hoping it would be the Omnia HD and i7500 I'm hoping its the Instinct 2. I guess we're all just a little different huh? :)

The X-ray looks like it may be it, but the volume rocker seems a little lower than the other photos I have seen.. yes I have studied it in that much detail ;)

I think you could be right, the images here: http://www.gsmarena.com/photos_of_samsung_s8000_leak__5_mp_camera_the_rest_is_a_mystery-news-839.php look very similar. The buttons, shape and the giveaway cube all match with the x-ray image. Lets hope this is an Android device!
Check out the unpacked site now. The image has been altered and the cube isn't there anymore!! I just hope it isn't a win mob device.
