Nokia 5630 XpressMusic bows across Europe

If you've been desperately seeking a phone that could best be described as the Nokia E52's misbehaving younger brother who can't hold a job and spends most of his time in his mom's basement blaring death metal, look no further than the 5630 XpressMusic. The phone's essentially an E52 clone that's had some of its uptight bits swapped out for funkier ones (just look at that wild keyboard, for instance), emphasizing the music capabilities but toning down some of the productivity goodies like advanced profile support and integrated Nokia Messaging. Interested parties in many European locales can now latch onto a unit of their own -- take Nokia Finland's online store here, for example, where it's selling for a totally reasonable €255 (about $360). No sign of an American release at this point.

Just to clarify, the 255 euro Finnish price is including Finland's 22% sales tax, and consumer electronics tends to be more expensive in Europe anyway for various reasons (the PS3 cost about $800 when it launched in Europe!). If the 5630 does ever make it to America it would probably be about $250 unlocked without a contract (plus taxes), or free on a contract.

I suspect this won't get to America though as the Nokia 5800 is already close to the 5630's price and outclasses this model in most ways, so the 5630 may not get enough sales to justify a global launch.

One other interesting point about the 5630: it has a 600mhz CPU, the highest clock speed on any Nokia device so far. What that actually means in practical terms is unclear though.

no, i cant believe it
im completely dumbfounded by it
and thats what is making me want the 5730 over the n97
because my 5800 is slow as hell
and i believe the n97 is the same processor as the 5800

I certainly hope that this phone reaches Asia. It's got good stuff in it for such an affordable price [well, taking the other phones with the same capabilities into consideration]. I can't wait to get my hands on one.

Nokia 5730 have the same cpu as 5800, ARM 11 369 MHz processor.
Nokia 5630 has ARM 11 600 MHz processor.
But 5800 has bigger screen and better resolution than 5630 & 5730.
I have problems to choose phone to.
I now have phone SE 700i, so I want a better one.
I like 5800 very much thou.
