Nokia N97 NAM preorders shipping in both colors

We've received confirmation from Nokia that preorders of the beastly N97 have now started shipping to American customers in both available colors, black and white. That puts the white model a couple days behind the black, true -- but any way you slice it, this still beats the online store's old estimate of July by a mile, so we can't complain too hard. Anyone out there already (creepily) strategically positioned on their porch in preparation for the FedEx dude's arrival later today?

Yes - I received a confirmation with Fedex tracking number (white N97, to be delivered by 3 PM today). Nice surprise just before the weekend!

Yes I'm replying to my own post....My N97 has arrived and it's pretty magnificent. My only question is: has anyone successfully synced this (using iSync) with a Mac? Nokia normally provides a download but has not yet done so for the N97. I'm wondering if anyone has gotten this to work with an earlier N-iSync plug in?

No, there are no profiles for iSync or Nokia Multimedia Transfer for download yet. The phone somehow shipped out before they were done. The phone profiles *are* in the latest Ovi Suite on Windows, of course.

Try the Nokia 5800's iSync plug. It's S60 5th Edition... Maybe? I don't know, I'm cheap and bought the 5800.

I received mine yesterday 06/11/09 around 11 am. Hardware wise I have to say it is impressive but I am actually returning it as the user interface is just clunky. I really didn't want to but if someone is reading this thinking about buying one I pre-ordered, I paid for overnight shipping, etc... so I really did want to like this phone but I cannot get past the UI.

Actually I had one for a day. Bought it from the Nokia store in NYC. They have both black and white there.
I had the black on Tuesday then returned it on Wednesday and there was the white.

got mines last friday... funny how the black version came in blue box and the white came in black box.

that is alot of space on one phone lol 32gb +16gb = 48gb and... when 32gb sdcard comes that'll be 64gb lol

Nokia's used to be nice but the last one i got (N96) was full of software related problems (bugs) ,i decided 2 get the "Samsung Omnia_HD" 'll bet the N97 will be full of bugs too,it'll need a lot of software updates to fix all issues and a lot of patience.i reckon the N95 was the only proper working "advanced" handset from nokia.
