When doing a side by side comparison between the WM Standard Samsung Jack and the HTC Snap you will find that the Jack has Wi-Fi and the Snap does not. The Jack has a 3.2 camera and the Snap has 2.0. Why pay more for less? A little less HTC fixation here would probably be a good thing. Many reviews of the Jack are coming in very positively as the device to watch for WM Standard.

-THP

Tim P.

Comments on Sprint confirms direct HTC Snap sales for June 21

No offense, but I don't know what's up with this love-affair with HTC products. I picked up a FUZE (returned it 3 days later) and the build quality and performance was suspect at best (this was after 5 diff. roms). As far as the SNAP....this looks like a blackberry reject from 2002.

penetrode

Comments on Sprint confirms direct HTC Snap sales for June 21

I couldn't agree more. For that same $70 you get 450 with (both), data (both), email (both), nav (Sprint), TV (Sprint), Radio (Sprint), unlimited messaging (Sprint) and a faster more dependable network in more places. $50 up front versus hundreds over the course of the contract is a good trade off

Don Louie

Comments on Sprint confirms direct HTC Snap sales for June 21

Don,

No question that the Sprint calling plan options are all about paying less and getting more. My comment was more to Chris stating that the only other option to the Snap was the Nokia E71. I have had a lot of HTC devices and while they are fairly innovative, each new release always seems to have 1 or 2 overlooked "omissions in the feature set. Something rather dated like a lousy camera resolution, Video Drivers missing, over matched slow processor, etc. It seems like they intentionally build in something just enough to keep you hungry for the next upgrade. Palm used to always due this kind of thing and it drove me nuts.

Samsung seems to be one of the hungriest innovators putting out new stuff both in terms of quantity and quality although like every OEM, they don't always hit the sweet spot either.

-THP

Tim P.

Comments on Sprint confirms direct HTC Snap sales for June 21

I Saw a Snap at a Radio Shack in the Mall today....They had a display up for the Exclaim but oddly there was no phone there. The Snap is a Good sized phone....it actually feels like a Curve But half as Thick. They wanted 450 Off contract, which is a fair price in my opinion. I wish it had the Trackball, but RIM would have sumthin to say about that....then again, a trackball like the G1's wouldnt be bad either.

I went A few stores down in the mall to the Sprint Store and they Confirmed it would be in stock by the 21st.

Miguel

Comments on Sprint confirms direct HTC Snap sales for June 21

Look how he holds that thing. I think the main reason is because this particular phone blends two different types of users.
