T-Mobile's HTC Touch Pro2 and Dash 3G get spec'd

While we twiddle our thumbs and wait for the Dash 3G and the Touch Pro2 to make their fanfare-laden debuts on good ol' Number Four (that's our pet name for T-Mobile USA, of course), literature is starting to show up that should make the wait marginally more bearable by giving us a few pretty pictures to look at and words to read. There's nothing Earth-shattering in here, but we see that the Dash 3G has 256MB of ROM and an impressive rated 8.3 days of standby time -- we'll believe that when we get that kind of performance ourselves -- while the Touch Pro2 moves up to 512MB, keeps the 8.3 days of standby, and touts its unusual full-duplex speakerphone that dominates the rear of the device. If you do a lot of conference calling, you must be beside yourself right about now, eh?

It's lost the elegant chrome detailing, and it hasn't even gained UMA. Methinks one might as well get the unlocked version.

It looks Beautiful just because it doesn't have that "fake" painted on cheap Chrome doesnt mean a thing. Wanna see Ugly, look up Sprint's Touch Pro2.

except for the back, i don't see anything wrong with Sprints version. The front looks like the original, just without chrome.

If Tmo didn't want the chrome, they should have done the front like Sprint & left everything else the same.

What will also be great is the Tmobile 3g which if you dont get the branded one, you will not go 3g with the unlocked model. I understand the name "Dash 3G" for the new Dash, but why the name "Touch Pro2"? I know that's the name of the device, but T-Mobile never had the original Touch Pro. It makes no sense. Why don't they give it a different name, like AT&T did with the HTC Fuze?

well i saw the pics of the tmobile version and it looks like junk...basically verizon and sprint will all have something similar... but i couldnt wait for something i dont like. so i ended up paying $800 for the european version since it looks better and has a few more options like the front facing camera. etc. and with tmobile u will end up paying around $300 just for the phone with a 2 year contract. And t-mo also started a new thing that u will have to have the data plan in order to get the rebate. So if u want my opinion if i were u.... i would get the european version.
