Sony Ericsson "Rachael" Android XPERIA handset unveiled?
Hello, beautiful. Danish phone site Mobil has uncovered "internal documents" on what appears to be Sony Ericsson's upcoming Android-based handset, an XPERIA number codenamed Rachael. Under the hood is a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, HSPA and an 8 megapixel camera. It's unclear how big the touchscreen is, and other details are scarce -- there is a 3.5mm headphone jack, so that's nice, but unless we're severely misguided, there doesn't seem to be a slide-out keyboard tucked away inside this thin chassis.

I just bought one.
You bought nothing, is not announced yet. :))
Ah really?
Very nice, how much?
Oh my god, I want this now! I mean, like NOW!!! And if anyone has a Idou prototype they're willing to sell, let me know also!
Dont expect to see this for months.
SE have a terrible record of getting things to market quickly. Shame, cos it looks nice.
Mine !
That or the upcoming high end acer a1 if it has tegra.
This seems like a 16/9 screen... Considering android 2.0 donut will allow higher screen resolution and it should be out in october / november, this is shaping up to be a great end of year :)
I want it. Please be OLED. If not I still want it.
Where's the panels key?
that first key on the left looks like it could be the panels button....but cant be too sure.....hopefully this phone doesnt have the price tag the X1 carried, and carrier subsidies would help with sales
Well, first - Snapgragon isnt a CPU, its part of a chipset from Qualcomm that encompasses, the GSM radio, Wifi, CPU, etc into one package.
Second - if this has anything higher than 3.2" screen, its running Donut.
I want more specs like Carrier... Most likely will end up on AT&T don't see it going to T-Mobile (they have enough android phones) But anything with the Sony name automatically costs an arm & a leg. I am curious as to how much this will cost if its anything like the 1st xperia in terms of pricing they can keep it
Still NO front facing camera for video calling though.... :o(
uhh, you all who buy locked phones and then still complain about price need a reality check, either shut your mouth about whining about your contracts and the prices of phones or go buy a phone for real and then complain, cuz they arent cheap ... it gets me every time someone is so completely concerned with the carriers ... worry about GSM/CDMA not tmob/att and who'll have it cheaper on a 2 year.
im not on contract any more, and i dont buy locked phones, its bad business this way my phone and i can leave anytime we want or buy a month to month from another company.
welcome to America, where you can get cheaper cell service if you skip the middle man.
for me, and this is a personal observation, i would like to keep the carriers just that carriers, just another dumb tube.
/rant sorry
this phone does LOOK nice, i want to know the KIND of screen, the RES of the screen and overall size of the device, hopefully its got that OLED coming in at 480x800 with donut which is supposed to be out 6mnths after 1.5 so late Q4 ... i need a new phone and this is looking great.
if HTC would have put Sense on Firestone I may have a hard choice, but 16mill colors > 65K and well that would make it a MUCH easier choice.
i just hope this is closer to the touch diamond in size (hahaha not!) than the omniahd. but well have to wait and see.
I like the layout and simplicity of the phone in all ways but one, I hope the camera appears small only because it's a big ass phone.
Of course the 1Ghz processor/chip, isn't anything to sneeze at either!
Let's go Sprint... don't drop the ball here! :)
"Rachael"... "Android"....... Blade Runner FTW!
