Samsung Omnia II and the case of the musical guided tour
Samsung's Omnia II and its gorgeous 3.7-inch AMOLED screen is still without a Verizon release date, but don't let that stop you from enjoying Italian site HDBlog's ten-minute guided tour of the device. Hard to tell exactly how crisp is from the footage, and we also couldn't help but note a good bit of interface lag, especially when using the new cube menu. We're hopeful that'll get remedied before launch, and all in all, it's looking good, and the hardware definitely has some style. Grab some popcorn, video is after the break.

This seems like a decent phone for Verizon - whats it running? OS of the week?
The problem I have is th ridiculous quirky beeps when a button is pushed. This isn't
1980 video game pop time. There could have been a better job done there for sure.
The video says that the screen is 16 million colors?
i thought that wasn't possible with WM?
Could someone please explain that to me
The video is wrong. WinMo can only do 65k. She also takes the battery cover off and says you can put your mini USB here, which was also wrong.
I've always wanted an address book that you can "use by fingering"
meh, you lost me at windows mobile....
Ahhhh sen-say what are these "why-jits" you speak of ? (@2:46) PMSL
Looks pretty nice to me.
I have the current Verizon Omnia which I have hacked the hell out of, and will probably do the same with this if I get it.
But there are a lot of things that I like on it just as it is now. The onscreen keyboard, and phone dialer look pretty good, as well as the media player.
For those that don't like the sounds when buttons are pressed, they can easily be turned off in settings if you don't want them, take all of 10 seconds to change.
My 2 cents
The best windows mobile handset to date!
This and the Omnia Pro will own all of HTCs models by far.
Not a fan of the cube thing though, but this phone has everything going for it.
Looks like a sim card in there to me also; from everything I've heard this will also have a GSM 1900mhz version as well.
that touch screen didn't look so happening... but I'm SURE they'll fix that before they release it.... man i think I'm going to have to wait for the TP2 now.
