We've been on pins and needles waiting for more info about the Snapdragon-powered
Sony Ericsson Rachael ever since we spotted those early images over the weekend, and while the latest pics are still just potentially fan-made renders, it's the accompanying UI video that we're freaking out over today. Just like HTC's layered the
Sense UI over Android on the
Hero, the Rachael looks to have a polished custom Sony Ericsson interface over its Android build, and we're definitely digging the vibe -- especially the unified messaging interface that displays Facebook, Twitter, email, SMS, and calls all from one screen. It's pretty slick stuff -- let's just hope it's real, and shipping soon. There's also a couple more renders of the funky rear-display
Kiki featurephone, but until we figure how SE intends for humans to actually use it, we're focused on Rachael. Renders and video after the break.

Looks pretty cool. Now let's see if either this phone or the HTC Hero make over to T-Mobile USA.
Yeah. Tis always the question. But seriously, I would buy either one if they were on TMo USA.
WTF is that nutso other thing?
THX FOR GETTING THIS UP GUYS!
..hopefully a full port to the x1 is possible... although if it's multi touch... it won't be...
YAY! SEX RACHALE! ur hott!
pffft. iPhone copy.
@ larry Android is coming up! Love the unified apps. I'm locked for 2 years with my iPhone but if it comes State side, I'm on it. Nothing beats apps running in parallel. Push notification with the iPhone doesn't cut it. I hate the fact that I can't answer my SMS without closing my current app. There is jailbreaking and getting iRealSMS but I need other stuff to do the same. The hardware beats the IP for sure but the software is slowly coming up!!
anyone else notice the XPERIA logo on the back of the "kiki" device...
certainly raised my brow..
Oh wow, you're right, that is pretty wild. Good call because those pics are tiny. I wonder if that means the Kiki will be WinMo or Android?
Anyway, the Rachael looks amazing. Great looks and the rumored hardware is just amazing. Can't wait!
Rachael = WANT! Very Much Want. I don't care about the price tag. Android on high end hardware! How long before it hits though?
Kiki = fail. No more Sony proprietary connector. Listen Sony: we hate that connector. It was the only thing keeping my w810i from being perfect. I still use that phone but can no longer listen to music on it due to that connector. Make it go away!
The integrated messaging portions with the 2D sliding looked good -- the contacts stack with annoying Compiz-Fusion-esque effects did not. Nifty the first couple of times, but hey, can i just get to my contacts? If it's being used to hide data loading or whatever that's more understandable, but still annoying.
Also, am i alone in thinking this looks very similar to Longhorn, the codename for Vista?
you're right
The kiki reminds me of the phone from Echelon Conspiracy: http://mikecanepics.wordpress.com/2009/03/29/echelon-conspiracy-phone/
Does anyone know if Qualcomm has made openmax drivers ?
Or is this rendered in software thanks to the power of snapdragon ?
And what about open gl 2 es for snapdragon ?
Oh and i don't know if you noticed, but at 1:10 the answer typed doesn't make any sense to what's on screen.
Photoshoped ?
And the time displayed on screen remained the same even though the video lasts more than 60 seconds :)
Sony Ericsson is the BEST!!!
