Is a standard headphone jack really too much to ask for in a "high end" smartphone?

Re: the "odd" looks- next to the G1 and the myTouch, the Samsung is by far the best looking. Everyone has one but I can say that I'm glad to use something different.

The device looks elegant and compact yet the keyboard is large enough to type on. The screen resolution looks sharp and the call quality (at least in my tests) were excellent and loud.

The HTML browser rendered pages quickly and fast and the trackball was defiintely a welcome addition for those small links that are difficult to click by finger.

T-Mobile has decent 3G coverage where I live (I know not everyone is so lucky) and coupled with WiFi it's a winner. The lack of a 3.5 mm headset jack is a bummer I know, but there is an adpater if you absolutely will die without one. The standard one works fine for me.

I just preordered a white one of my own last night around 11-ish. To be honest, if I never had the opportunity to play with one myself I wouldn't have pre-ordered it. The online pics and videos floating around don't do it any justice. It's like a person who is good looking but doesn't photograph well. ;-)

Since it is small and thin, it fits well in your pocket. That's why I just ordered myself a couple of Invisibleshields by ZAGG to protect this bad boy.

To each his own. I know there are a lot of AT&T and Verizon employees who love to talk trash about T-Mobile and try to drown out the positives with their past negative experiences, but I challenge them all to get one of these in their hands and use it for a few days before passing judgement on the hardware and/or network. There are areas like mine where the network is fantastic and call quality is excellent. No reason to pay more for covearge I will never ever need.

Daniel
