Seidio Palm Pre battery adds more staying power, retains slim figure
Admit it, your 1150mAh stock Palm Pre battery is far less than stellar -- it's okay, we won't tell anyone. In fact, you can pick up an even larger, 1350mAh battery from Seidio that manages to keep the same physical proportions as its predecessor, meaning no dead giveaway / gaudy bulge the back of the phone. Ideally, that'd get ya an almost twenty percent bump in usage, but we doubt it pans out so nicely in field testing. Feel free to find out for yourself, it's on sale now for a cool $45.

Sounds like something I and alot of other people need... but I am too scared to get it. Think I will let someone else try it first (cough cough engadget) and then hopefully they will report back with some good news.
Works & fits fine
I have a few Seidio batteries... one for my BlackBerry Pearl and one for the Pre
Although I returned the Pre and am getting a Tour, which they also make an extended battery for
How is that battery going to fit in that Pre!? Its Huge!
/stuff
That's what she said !
Is Seidio a good third-party battery brand? I'm seriously considering getting their extended battery for my quick-to-die Curve 8900, but nightmares of battery explosions and such immediately run through my head when thinking of non-OEM batteries.
Leave it to Seidio to give you a paltry 17% increase over the stock battery at a royal, premium price. Maybe those using a Pre for business can get through and entire workday without having to plug-in. Suckuz!
I have a Seidio higher capacity battery for my Tilt. It's great, and it's even lighter than the stock battery. If you're going to get a second or backup battery for your phone, you might as well get a higher cap Seidio one.
I'm wondering about this too, as battery life is the only thing im not lovin about my pre, I'm sure pre users can keep an eye out for comments about the battery and if it has any issues over on Precentral.net (not that i doubt engadgets ability to do this, just figuring that someone there will be willing to do it much sooner)
Very cool, can't wait until they make one for those iPhone 3GS's that are having all those battery life problems.....oh wait :)
true that Joseph... thats hilarious. you can remove an iphone battery. its simple and anyone can do it. just throw it against a brick wall and presto, you have the iphone battery
Why you gots to rain on my parade?
Actually, I remember when virtually unknown battery companies sold their wares on eBay for super cheap.
This is a total premium but still has the potential liability should something go wrong. Of course, at least it's not an iPod catching your car on fire... Or made by Sony.
If technology allows a larger capacity battery, why didn't palm do this to begin with...what's it add...20 cents to the cost of the battery?
