One thing I never understood is why these low end phones have no 3.5mm jack. There are tons of people who don't need smartphones and pricy plans, I was looking for years for simple small cheap small cell phone with 3.5mm jack, I never found it.
If HTC can't get their act together on high end phones, how's this POS from Nokia gonna manage? However, Nokia's probably the best single producer of phones w/ 3.5mm jacks around (the N series has had them for the past 4+ years).
Blackberry is by far the best with 3.5mm support. HTC said that they are going to add 3.5mm jack to all smartphones going forward. NOKIA is really not leader in this, why the heck they use 2.5mm jack on some phones? it confuses quite a lot of people.
My original comment was not about NOKIA only, but cheap cell phones in general. They can be great simple MP3 devices, yet most of them lack 3.5mm jack which cost pennies but add MP3 playback feature WTF ??!!
For reasons no one seems to know- Nokia differentiate between the N & E series & a 3.5mm jack is one of the ways they do this. I still feel that if you go back & see who started doing it regularly first I think Nokia'd win. That said, they're totally behind the curve in software now so a headphone jack can't fix their other inadequacies.
I believe the later comment's accurate: SE has put out some nice feature phones w/ headphone jacks. Their W series isn't bad & is usually cheap.
