A coworker of mine is working on Android devices and I was told that Verizon will be seeing an Android device much sooner than most people have expected. The rumors are indeed true and the first Android phone will be the Motorola A855 (it will be a smart phone) as pictured previously on this site. I will keep everyone up to date as I get more info!

VerizonTester

Comments on HTC XV6975 picks up GCF approval en route to Verizon

Verizon's Android phone:
http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2009/04/29/calgary-to-be-motorolas-first-android-phone-more-news-on-moto/

Joseph

Comments on HTC XV6975 picks up GCF approval en route to Verizon

But WHEN will they be released. The XV6875 is the Touch Pro2. I have used the TP2 and I can verify that it is labeled as a "XV6875". The prerelease version I used was equipped with an ExtUSB jack and WinMo 6.1, but we are being told that the production version will ship with a 3.5mm jack and WinMo 6.5. It really is a nicely built device. Feels leaps and bounds better than my current VZW Touch Pro.

VZWSteve

Comments on HTC XV6975 picks up GCF approval en route to Verizon

so what are we looking at for a release-- Dec?

Mulda

Comments on HTC XV6975 picks up GCF approval en route to Verizon

Release time frame for fall?
