You know, we really didn't
believe it at first, but looks like
Modu has finally launched in some part of the world, and just as rumored, the inaugural carrier is the Israel company's local network Cellcom. Likely because they knew we
still wouldn't be convinced, the crew at
Mobo have gone hands-on with the phone. All in all, no difference from
what we saw back in February -- jackets and all -- but hey, it's crossed a major threshold and hit "retail product" status. So is it time to talk about
touchscreens yet?
Touchscreens for Modu? as far as I've heard, not until 2011 for the least...
I'd love to get my hands on one of those, despite it being pretty basic.
I don't see this ever hitting the ground. Though an innovative concept, unless you've got great publicity and public anticipation for the product with companies committed to developing jackets for the device it just won't take. Hopefully, this at least has some sort of developer's kit to allow tailoring of the GUI to whatever jacket is on.
And I can only imagine how crazily the battery life will fluctuate on this thing. The most basic device will do well (assumingly), but what happens when you put on jackets with modern features? Also, the whole concepts of swappable jackets will inevitably lead to a bulkier (i.e., thicker and overall larger than it would be conventionally) device when dressed.
But don't get me wrong, I'd love to see this a success. Sounds so innovative.
WOW, I give less than a damn about what get released in the promised land.
Good, because the promised land doesn't give a damn about what's released in you either =)
They have phones in Israel?
Yeah, and they also developed the intel processor inside your computer. Read a Wikipedia article or something because comments like these are just ignorant.
piece of JUNK !!!!
