iPhone OS 3.1 beta 3 out now
Developers now have access to beta 3 of iPhone OS 3.1, suggesting that the latest revision is inching ever closer to a rumored September release. The big news here might be support for video APIs, making augmented reality apps (among others that need... you know, video) a distinct possibility -- and knowing the App Store, you'll be flooded with them in no time.

speaking of the iphone, there's been a lot of talk in congress about forcefully ending its' contract exclusivity with AT&T. I guess a lot of people think it goes against democracy and has everything to do with a monopoly and bad business ethics. http://www.newsy.com/videos/exclusivity_stifling_or_innovative
LOL, what happens when Apple says they only want the iphone sold as a GSM device? Verizon is still screwed!
Here's the thing:
1) AT&T refuses to unlock an iPhone, even after you contract is up or you buy it unsubsidized.
2) There are other GSM carriers in the US like T-Mobile (even though 3G doesn't work).
WOW. that's dumb, every time there is an idiot linking to that site, first off, how much slots do they even have? because I would imagine that it has gone over 100 now for a long time. Probably scammers. just be a dev and you wont ruin your device!
I just wanna multi-task =[...fail..
If have to wait until September for them to fix the battery life issue? What's the point of having an iPhone 3G if you can't use the 3G radio because it'll deplete the battery in less than 8 hrs.
Apple, you suck soooooooo hard right now.
Wow If congress did that it would be great then mabey I could get someone to unlock my phone. I intend to buy an iPhone 3G S and use my iPhone 3G when I travel with a prepaid sim. So if that would happen I would be thrilled.
Even if Congress does force it, for whatever reason, Apple probably has zero interest in making a CDMA device. Only Verizon - on a global scale, would make CDMA worth considering. Secondly, Verizon has been pushing for an LTE network quickly (many markets are said to get VZW LTE by the end of 2010) and then BAM, LTE is backward compatible so now people can start using GSM phones on Verizon. When the iPhone 4 G comes out in 2 to 4 years, the CDMA version would be crap.
What I am worried about right now is that SMS vulnerability that is going to be announced a Black Hat that Apple has done shit about. No 3.0.1 this doesn't sit well with me. I don't give a damn about video APIs or such, I just don't want my phone to be a zombie.
