T-Mobile UK's Hero hits tomorrow as G2 Touch

We're getting ready to enjoy the Magic-based myTouch 3G here in the States -- but in the UK, which is centuries ahead of the US in terms of Android technology (they're running the French Cruller code branch over there), they're about to launch a version of the Hero instead as the G2 Touch. The carrier's European divisions have been expected to get the phone over the next few weeks, and British customers in particular will be pleased to know that it'll be up online tomorrow and in stores "over the next few days." That's fine, T-Mobile, whatever -- we'd rather have the myTouch anyway. Hmph.

This is fascinating and all, and I am exited for the folks across the way, however, there is nothing really more technologically advanced this phone has over any other Android device other than it lacks a physical KB (some would say that is a minus), and it has more memory.

OEMs have some derious designing inside and out to do if they want to wow us with something androidifying.

Well that sucks. Whatever, i'll be getting the myTouch in 7 Days, 23.5 Hours now. Ugh, I've been waiting forever! The Hero is nice I guess, the design is a little bland, but if the myTouch had the same specs it would be the best phone. 3.5mm jack, more RAM+ROM, 5mp camera. W/e I can live. myTouch FTW.

HTC phones are simply superb. The HTC Hero G2 Touch is a very well designed phone. It has all basic features like bluetooth, MMS, Wi-fi, camera etc. Call quality is excellent, messaging is easy and fun. Camera is of poor quality.
