Number of applications downloaded from the iPhone App Store
After hitting a historic 1 billion downloads, Apple says the store cleared another half a billion apps in the following three months.

GV Mobile is on Cydia and works nicely..
A few hiccups converting it to work with jailbroken iPhones, but so far I've loved it... Google Voice is a life-altering service for a lot of people (especially for small businesses/self-employed users)
I had to send Apple & AT&T a complaint as integrating the iPhone and Google Voice is just a great idea. I was using my Blackberry for Google Voice previously, but I prefer to use my iPhone.
Anyway, if you want GV Mobile (the side-developed also free Google Voice app) you can find it on Cydia.. If you need more instructions try:

I gave it a try. The app is well done and I didn't encounter any problems in my testing. It's a shame that Apple rejected it, because it's quite well done - I suppose AT&T showed us who wears the pants in *that* relationship.
I have to say, though, that I don't suppose I'm the target audience for Google Voice. The main benefit seems to be that it can send calls to whatever phone you happen to be at, but I already have (and only use) my mobile phone for everything.
I think that iphone is great but apple shouldn't take the competitive spirit away from a number one product. Let Google Voice be in the app store. Apple just go make a better product than them. It gives the consumer a choice. Apple has done a good job at making a phone. Let the software people fight it out for best product. Most of all let the consumer decide which is best.
If Apple is going to not allow certain app's in there store, maybe I should start a App store that sinks non approved apps to the iphone...... I'll bet Playboy and Penthouse and others would be good candidates to make $$$$... Apple go do what you do best and let the consumer decide who has the better software......
