Nokia 5800 XpressMusic sees v30 firmware update

Don't get too excited -- this isn't bringing the 5530's revamped home screen or anything awesome like that -- but Nokia has now started releasing v30-level firmware updates for its various 5800 XpressMusic product codes around the world. Despite the seemingly significant boost in version number (the last big one to go around was v21), this appears to be mainly a maintenance release focused on bugs and such -- the headlining feature so far seems to be the addition of email notifications on the home screen for Nokia Messaging, so yeah, don't expect the world from this one.[Via All About Symbian]
And here I was waiting for the N97 home screen, and some other cool features, but it looks like it's just a bug fix patch.
I love my 5800 though, it's the best workhorse full touch screen phone I've found. Wifi Tethering, tons of app support from about a million sources (no stupid app store / provider restrictions like my old Iphone), and it can multitask (though I don't do it that much.
The resistive touch screen 95% of the time was just as easy to use as my Iphone, I've never had to use the stylus, the only complaint with it, is it can be a bit tough to click tiny links with fingers, but thats what the plectrum is for.
Here's hoping the next firmware gives us the cool start screen, and a few more visual addons that make S60 look less like a giant system of buttons and low res icons. Other then that, pretty happy.
