His holiness "Steve Jobs", pulled the plug on this app, not AT&T. Hence the blackberry's with it.
You can go through the annoying process of voiding your warranty and jailbreaking it so you can install the leaked copy of the GV app.
GOOD!!!
Keep the Google Voice news coming and coming, just put Apple to shame every single day.
@geekgirl: I would like to have one!
Both sent :)
Need your email ....
Wait. Wat?
Actually it's a tongue-in-cheek fact.
Way to start more stupid Pre vs. iPhone bloodbaths Nilay. What a fool you are. Couldn't just have said: " Rejoice Pre owners! Google Voice client available!"
If anyone needs on email me at geeeekgirl@gmail.com
sent from w*********a at gmail. thanks.
you guys are welcome, i am out now....

2 phone lines on 1 phone.
Potantial for Visual Voicemail.
You can schedule when your phone rings, and when people are sent straight to voice mail.
You can get your VM sent to you as a transcribed TXT message.
You can log into your GV account and listen to your VM on your computer, or save it for future reference.
With GV you can RECORD A PHONE CALL. This is GREAT when dealing with crappy customer service people. "Well the guy I called yesterday told me this..., here listen to it in his own voice!"
Biggest feature for me is cheap international calling.
I use Google 411, option #3 on my voicemail all the time, it is great for when on the go and it is free (Verizon "used" to get over a dollar from me for 411 queries).
International calls from my voicemail is also a great feature.
Integration with Gizmo 5 allows me to make calls from wifi.
I also have a permanent record of missed calls regardless of my phone being on or off, I'm never tide up to a device and can reduce my chances of getting cancer : )
good try, but we know you are not the real Paul. the real douche paul is paul A chapel. accept no imitation! we want the douchey one back and go on his gibberish to bash the pre again! ;)
Forgot my email,
it is chilman415@gmail.com
I knew it. He's not the one we love to hate but he loves to get hated. Same difference.
Does anyone know if it is possible to forward a cell number to GV?
I would like for all my calls to go through GV so I could have a list of all my calls, VM, and block numbers.
If not this would be an awesome addition to an already awesome app.
funny thing is.. this is just going to push MORE people to jailbreak and unlock.. as I have.. isn't that the opposite of what they'd like to happen? I'm not sure they thought this through.. but whatever :)
looks great! seems like the pre ain't too bad a platform to code for
This is goofy, there are so many ways to use google voice, in fact their voicemail interface is extremely practical, I can use it for google 411, make calls both domestic and international at great rates etc. So it is not like Apple has any power to stop google voice, perhaps they are just afraid of reinforcing the Google brand and diminishing theirs along the way, but that is exactly what they are doing with this shady move.
The only problem I have with using GV on iPhone is that GV Mobile not native app. This is a problem because when I need to call someone using my GV number I have launch the app, however sometimes there is not enough of a good connection to do it since GV Mobile uses EDGE, 3G not cellular connection.
If someone has my GV number they also need to have my cell number as well because when I need to make that call and make it via iPhone's native dialer they will not see my name in their contact list - just my ATT number. Google might want to allow porting of ATT number to GV number, but then it defeats the whole purpose of Google Voice because you are not masking your ATT cell number. The only good solution is to make Google Voice app native and we all know how this will turn out.
"Can't say that about your little phone, can you Steve?"
best engadget quote ever :-) how funny
