iPhone OS 3.0.1 update released, fixes SMS vulnerability
Looks like Apple pulled the trigger on patching that nasty iPhone SMS vulnerability a little earlier than we expected -- the iPhone OS 3.0.1 update just hit iTunes. It's not some lightweight, either: you're looking at 280MB of love here, so get downloading, friends.

No MMS is AT&T's fault, not Apple's.
Honestly the MMS and Tethering im not to worried about, I was yesterday talking to a rep from att I know, and he told me how they have been upgrading there billing system, and other systems finally getting away from the old cingular system. He explained to me some stuff I promised not to give out, but from what I hear man this company should do very well after they sort all this out.

AT&T is not upgrading their billing system they are simply moving everything to a single billing system. Currently they run 2 different billing systems. It easy to inform the outside world that its an upgrade when its actually not an upgrade at all. They are just moving another 20 million (or how ever many accounts it is) on to a billing system that has always been used to begin with and has another 40 million accounts on it. Cross your fingers :)
@suprson
Pretty sure that would be a form of updating. If its not the same as it has been or was before. Then they updated the information lol. I love how everyone wants to sound more important and knowledgable then the next! lame.
Well do you want facts or bull shit. Moving accounts around is not upgrading. when a provider merges it's called a conversion. so IMO I would call it a conversion.
wank wank
200MB? OMG, that will eat 10% of my internet quotas on the first date of this month...
First off, Suprsonic attempt at showing EM readers his awesomeness and excellence through his knowledge=FAIl
Second, did anyone else get the virus?
One of my customers came in with a dead iPhone. He hadn't updated software in a week. His device wouldn't turn on by any means. Haha, he also told me he recieved a text from an unknown number. That sucks.
Just spent the last 3 hours restoring factory settings on my iPhone and restoring data. Tried to update to 3.0.1 and phone went into recovery mode. Still unsure if the new OS was to blame - but a word of warning... ensure you've backed up you iPhone BEFORE you install OS 3.0.1
You guys make me laugh, here in the good old uk I've been able to
MMS for a couple of months now.
Joking aside I'm glad we have iphone on a good network like O2,
AT&T sound crap !
Yes, I agree. The MMS feature is dependent on the the network. My friend in another country uses MMS directly on his iPhone.
