Motorola Sholes Android phone for Verizon appears in the flesh
Hm, maybe Motorola should have stuck with the render a while longer, cause this first shot of the Verizon-bound Sholes Android smartphone is looking mighty rough. Of course, it is just a blurrycam leak, and there's a chance we're not seeing this set's true beauty, but honestly, we're not sure even the most loving press photographer can make that red D-pad attractive. We'll find out soon enough, if things go as planned.

Apparently, this is an old version of the hardware. It seems the renders are much closer to the design of the production unit.
That edge around the frame of the phone looks like it would hurt your ear when talking on the phone.
The Dpad would be attractive if it was on the left where its supposed to be.
gotta agree with you there. i don't know why phones are always like this but every other electronic pretty much has the d-pad on the left as standard. hopefully the touchscreen will be good enough that the d-pad won't be used very often.
the render from yesterday looked better but the phone looks decent overall anyway. plus it's Android on Verizon, and i've had pretty good success with Motorola phones over the years.
So I really hope this is early hardware since it is a nice design but a butt ugly color. The other issue is that I'm Fu&King left handed why is it so hard to make a phone that can use. Granted something like only 10% or 15% of the world population is left handed but really and I always stuck being the redhead stepchild or what.... I wonder if I could sue everyone in the world for discrimination??????
It mihgt not be the most beautiful thing in the world, but I cant wait to have Android on VZW. If october comes and goes without so much as a hint of this phone, I will not be a happy customer.
might* whoops.
Based on the phone that Verizon showed at their press event from Google, with an all black casing, my guess is that this is an earlier prototype.
