Verizon: Touch Diamond, Touch Pro now $99 with contract

Looks like Verizon's up to something (and we're not talking about Sholes). A quick trip over to VZW's site has confirmed that $99 -- and a two-year contract -- will land you just about any smartphone that they offer (one notable exception being the Samsung Saga), including HTC's Touch Pro and Touch Diamond. Could this mean that the new Touch Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 are soon to rear their pretty little heads? We'd be down with that.
LOL Htc touch pro from verizon is one of the worst phones to ever buy i just sold it for 100.00 in a classifieds add, spent 349.00 on it and went thru 3 replacements and verizon could not grant me another phone please beware of this phone has a lot of bugs and its slow, there is no updates for it.. so i just bought the new blackberry tour and 2 Iphone 3G S which are great, stay away from HTC phones no good junk.....battery life is like what 2 hours LOL
They came out with software update for it like two months ago. I'm using unlocked GPS because of it :-)
You might wanna start doing your research on phones you buy with Verizon. Everbody and they're mom knows they severely crippled their touch pro
i had a htc touch from sprint the gps didnt work right and the sprint store couldnt fix it. the repair rep said to me what do you need gps for anyway just use the sprint navigation. i just laughed right in her face and said r u serious and said to her well if i cant get the gps to work how can i use sprint navigation . she looked at me with a blank stare and said oh well we will just swap this phone out then id overheat so hot that i couldnt even hold the phone. it was the worst phone ever and i had it replaced 3 times before i switched to get a iphone. iphone may not be the best phone but it works :)
Isn't Apple/ATT having trouble with their latest iPhone with heating issues? I hear it will burn your pants!
Yep...it is just that. TouchPro2 definitely coming out soon on Verizon as I have a working Demo model of it that I'm using right now. It's pretty sweet, too.
Ya i replaced my verizon touch pro as well. Was just too slow for me. Hopefully touch pro 2 is much improved.
Ive seen the Verizon TP2. I love it. I am sure you all will too.
If you guys have "seen it" and "have it in your hands," etc. etc., when is it going to be released?
how bout some pics of it......the back is what I want to see. Does it have the 3.5mm jack?
Wow where is the HTC hate coming from, I have owned nothing but HTC and have never had a problem that I couldn't fix myself without running to the sprint store. I had a GPS problem with my 6900 and a quick visit to XDA a cab install later and no probs have the Diamond now phone is great. Please people do your damn research before you buy anything but of course wont they will all probably swarm for this like they did for the storm.
ALSO I love it when people complain about battery life yea the battery life is not the best but it last 2 hours with Tomtom, playing music connected to my radio. checking for emails every 10 minutes on 3 accounts and the occasional phone call all at the same time. On days I only make phone call it goes all day but noooo everybody wants a powerhouse phone that last 4 days on a charge but doesn't sacrifice size. Well guess what I want my Alienware to last more than 1 hour while editing or my car to get more than 12 miles a gallon but guess what it wont happen. If you need a phone or laptop with great battery life or even a car with good gas mileage DO YOUR FN RESEARCH FIRST. Don't buy a V8 if you have no MONEY, Don't buy an gaming laptop if you will be traveling all day and please don't buy a PDA if you don't know what the hell it is. Complaining on the web wont do anything the companies already have your money.
i did my research on the Verizon Htch touch pro and it was kept stock the the VZ GPS etc, seems like windoes isnt ready to be on phones yet, going thru 3 replacements for a phone is bad. didn't know the phone would be very slow and only good on battery for 4 hours tops i think, worthless junk i call it and verizon could do nothing to grant me some other phone and i payed 349.00 and now it's on sell for 99.00 look at the reviews on it on verizonwireless.com sounds like a bad phone, i known lots with htc phones they all say bad and 1 word Freezes... LOL
For those who have played with the touch pro 2, is the GPS locked out of the gate?
The TP2 and D2 better get out asap, my contract is about up and I'm highly considering running to Sprint for a Pre, VZW takes way too damn long to release phones and my Palm 700w is way too old.
Lets go Verizon! They need to be the first to release something good before they get beat out...
I just want to say that Verizon smartphone choices are just in the pits. I wouldnt pay 100$ for any of those phones that are discounted to 100$. I look at other companies that cant touch verizon in coverage and reliability and they have all these android and htc products. The new army of verizon phones better push out those crappy LG flip phones and come up with nokias and less flip phones.
Apparently the first fire sale didn't do the trick. The TP1 and Diamond are now $29.99 (2 year) on vzwshop.com after $70 online instant rebate.... Oddly enough, they're still showing $99 on verizonwireless.com.
Come on Touch Pro2!
