We've seen
more than enough evidence surface to convince us that HTC Touch Pro2 is making its way over to Sprint at some point, and now this morning comes two interesting piece of information each pegging a release date for early September. Only problem is, the pair can't seem to agree on exactly what that day will be.
Phone Arena's gotten its hands on an alleged leaked document hailing straight from the Now Network that claims Thursday, September 3rd is the lucky day, while on the flip side, Engadget reader Louis wrote in to let us know of an apparent reply he got from Sprint customer service that told him it'd be up for sale on Tuesday, September 8th. That last one's pretty peculiar, given the carrier's yet to even confirm the device's existence, but that hasn't necessarily stopped blabbing reps before. With both of these days now less than a month away, chances are we won't be waiting too much longer to know for sure.

3 and 8 look alot like when you aren't paying attention. perhaps the agent mistyped the date?
I would believe the leaked doc way before the care rep. It might make its way into stores on the 8th and launch on-line or for direct ship on the 3rd? Either way, the sooner the better. This phone has been a long time coming! Now we need some pricing.
Awesome! I am due for an upgrade in Sept. My money is on it being $299. I don't think any carrier has the gonads to price a WinMo phone higher than that and that's how much the original TP debuted for.
How much do upgrades generally knock off anyway?
The $150 upgrade means you get the same price as new customers. The $75 upgrade gets you $75 off regular price.
I'm super excited for the Instinct s50. I've been waiting for it to launch since late April when my s30 went back after reception problems. I'll be picking up the s50 launch day. Odd how it hasn't gone thru the fcc filing yet also no hands ons yet or much leaked info. I'm suspicious if the 3rd will really happen for the s50. Also what's with the odd Tuesday launch of all these phones I thought they usually launch sundays?
No simultaneous voice and data on Sprint -- is that a big deal? Because I want to jump from AT&T so badly.
Like the Sprint Rep states "time is approx and subject to change", just be happy it looks like early September in any case.
The TP2 could be priced pretty expensively since it's got a larger display, does alot more, and it's a world phone with GSM radio as well as CDMA. I'm expecting $399 AFTER rebate and 2yr commit. I've got the HTC Mogul and it was $350 a/r w 2yrs.
@Who?: Sprint does have simul voice and data if your data is either text messaging or Web via Wifi.
I just finished chatting with a Sprint customer service rep and she stated that the release date for the Pro 2 is 09/08, of course she stated that this can change. She also said that the Samnsung M240, M330 and Instinct S50 are also being released on 09/08.
