Verizon's Touch Pro2 in the wild again, just for kicks
Regardless of carrier, we know that these in-the-wild shots of the Touch Pro2 drive impatient buyers within an inch of madness, so we apologize in advance if this latest batch leads to any mental health facility commitments -- but, you know, we're just doing our job here. This time around, we get Verizon's version of the phone pitted against a Sprint Touch Pro, starkly demonstrating that the new model is a good deal longer -- something we hadn't really considered. We also get a good look at the Device Information screen showing 86.85MB of free RAM and 230.69MB of free ROM, though we can't say with certainty that the shot was taken on a bone-stock Touch Pro2 that was fresh out of the box, not to mention the fact that we could still see firmware revisions before it even hits the market. With global roaming capability, we bet this one's going to be a hot seller in certain audiences -- particularly those with far more business attire in their closets than ourselves.

maybe when htc pro 3 comes out i will eat my words
How do you prefer the original to this?
Not being snobbish, I'm just genuinely curious.
Its Verizon people it sucks they cripple every phone and 99% of their phones don't work oversees.
Don't bother Verizon equals local home boys with no clue of the world around them,. Go USA
Look everybody.... a moron.
/Fail!
Next time before you post, do some research! I'm not even on Verizon and know this info....

Lilrico ftw.
Can't wait for Mightyrom + Lilrico goodness on the TP2.
This is days old, but thanks
Jim, please remove your head from your arse. This phone isnt crippled and it DOES work overseas.
This is a few days old guys: http://fonefrenzy.wordpress.com/2009/08/11/verizon-htc-touch-pro-2-outed-in-spy-shots/
Yep -- on occasion, we'll post things that aren't necessarily same-day material if we feel it adds value for the readers.
No problem, just letting you know. Still love Engadget!
nice. as a long time VZW customer, i'm excited to see some nice phones coming our way for a change. i was pretty close to leaving for the Pre until i started to hear rumors of all the new phones VZW would be getting (including the Pre possibly). i'll be keeping a close eye on this and any Android phones coming to VZW.
I wish it had Android with the sense UI on it..........
are you serious? this is a professional business phone... with emphasis on business. Businesses big and small need phones that meet IT security standards already in place, they dont have time for early adoption and increased cost for support. Winmo (and Blackberry for that matter) are highly established and receive high marks for their security and productivity. With gsm world phone capability and the 3.5mm headphone jack, these CDMA TP2s are a multitasking business traveler's dream...with good looks to boot. Winmo OS may not be the smoothest or even latest lag-free UI available...but what you can do right out the box on the go compared to other OS is profound. Couple that with xda custom ROMs and its unbeatable when all things considered. I'm glad I didnt hear any iphone chatter like in other TP2 posts and complaints about its 3mp camera. The iphone, while a good phone in the hands of your average consumer, is not its intended target and the latter is further emphasis that this is a business first-related phone. Many large corps have strict policy on high megapixel cameras...especially in r&d. Last thing they want is some scrupulous employee/contractor/vistor snapping hi-rez pics of products or plans. Want a camera phone? get a nokia or sony-ericsson. Need a simple yet purposeful UI and access to farting apps for your music phone? get a iphone or lg. Ready to take care of business around the world, be productive on the go and still enjoy mulitmedia action at the end of the day? HTC has a phone for you in the form of the new Touch Pro 2. Step aside Palm Pre (well actually to Line 2)...I got work to do!

Can't we get a f'in release date??? I mean, I understand that Verizon doesn't want those dirty bastards at Sprint bumping up their release date when they find out Verizon is launching the TP2 sooner (just like the Tour), but still.
I seriously just want a confirmed date to look forward to.
Please we are have our date for release which is the 8 of september, so hopefully you get urs by the time the tp3 is announced lmao!!!
27th of this month.. online.
sorry, but I have to ask. is this intel, or just what you read in the forums? just wondering if this is recycled rumor, or further confirmation of the same rumor from another inside source.
Remove before use? That wasn't on the t-mobile one. Haha. FREE SCREEN PROTECTOR FTW!
I also want a release date so those dirty bastard at sprint release theirs earlier.......cause I'm with sprint.
Sprint already has a release date of 9/3
