Video: BlackBerry Storm 2 gets yet another prerelease review
Still not convinced that the BlackBerry Storm 2 is alive and kicking in places outside of RIM's "secure" labs up in Waterloo? How's a seven minute long video showing off this perennially-leaked device for all you skeptics? The blur-free video shows off the updated SurePress screen that only clicks when the unit's actually in use, as well as some size comparisons with the Onyx and Tour. The mystery man behind the camera says that even though his OS is super old -- at least by pre-release firmware standards -- it's much faster than the previous-gen Storm. Also interesting is the fact that WiFi doesn't appear to be present in the "Manage Connections" screen, although we can almost say with 100% certainty that there will be WiFi at launch. The full video's posted after the break, conspiracy theorists: go wild.

Still - again, I will say it once more (and every time). NO one has gotten down the art of giving a real great video review/preview. Absolutely horrible.
if no one has gotten it right then maybe you are too picky?
this phone looks sexy, can't wait to see a review of the fully finished product
how they heck do you have a verizon phone with At&t logo on it weird is this something that is unlocked or does At&t let u ride there network to..
can someone tell me this
Well the FW is based off of Storm 1's, so that explains Verizon. The AT&T network is because that's what the guy is using? Even though the Storm is Verizon exclusive, I believe it also has a SIM card slot for use on GSM networks if unlocked.
WTF it says AT&T at the top lol
it say att because he is riding a att network on a DAMN unlocked version come on guy have a little sense. he even went through and said why!!!!!!!!!!
hmmmm....this is slated to be released sometime in the area of octover/november (according to phonearena), which would be perfect since my contract is up in october. this may be what i get. :)
I'm really happy Steven Wright did this review.
Now they just need to offer everyone who bought the Storm a free upgrade to the Storm 2. I know everyone hates their Storm and would gladly return them for this.
Uncertain whether it was a hardware design issue, Verizon's network or simply the phone's integration into Verizon's network, BUT unless there is a drastic improvement to call quality, the OS improvements won't be enough to matter where sales are concerned. RIM has every reason to know this and had better be taking it very seriously if they want this 2nd-Gen Storm to be successful.
I love how folks keep saying "they better get this or that right" or whatever. Get over it people. Just because YOU don't like your Storm, doesn't mean that other people don't.
Did I have the screen click issue? Yes. Did I read about different options on how to fix it? Yes. I used the Torx bit fix, and I haven't looked back.
I have had my Storm since about 2 weeks after launch and I haven't had any other issues besides those that I created myself. The main reason is because I'm an educated consumer and have researched, tried, tested, and am comfortable with the device and options.
oh, and nobody is going to get a free anything...
Possibly OS updates improved the very poor call quality I experienced out of the box. But, even with solid, consistent coverage, call audio quality suffered badly in my test unit which was brought in for trial months after release. When you run an enterprise of any size, vs only having your personal time and investment involved, it makes a clear difference whether the device is fully ready to perform as intended or not. Glad it worked for you.
