Keepin' it real fake, part CCXXXII: Nokla strikes again with E81 rehash
Due to Nokia's continued dismissal of the ripe-for-the-picking E81 model number, the diligent folks at "Nokla" (fresh off their E97 design win) have seen it fit to issue a second handset under that fake moniker. Surprisingly, this one actually boasts a rather unique swivel design -- even beating Nokia's own effort in this regard -- a QWERTY keyboard and some decent specs. There's even a mirror on the swivel-up back (we hear that women love mirrors), along with a hole at the swivel hinge for working a lanyard through. We'd venture to say it's the best E81 Nokia never made.

Motolona Karma + a bit style of Nokla. The bootleg makers (i can say criminals), don't own anything unique idea yet.

Isn't this how VZW's next Nokia is supposed to work?
Maybe they know something we don't.
LOLZ! yes I think so.
You know, with the right options, I might actually be willing to buy something like that.
1) dual SIM cards
2) quadband GSM + AT&T 3G
3) wifi
4) Android
5) ability to do tethering
6) LOTS of battery
7) microSDHC card
8) 3.5mm headset + headphone jack
9) charge and data via mini or micro USB
Yup. I'd be interested.
The quality does not matter anymore for you. :P
I said "interested", not "I'd buy". The price would have to match the quality.
I mean, a device with those features, that will fall apart in about 12 months ... but has a total unsubsidised (because it's unlocked/unbranded/not-sold-by-any-carrier) for under $100. That wouldn't bother me.
I can afford $100/year for a device that actually has the features I want, as opposed to continually wasting money on devices that, while they last 3ish years (but most people replace yearly anyway, to "keep up with the jonses"), don't actually have the features I want.
I mean, look at the list of things I gave ... add to it that I require a physical 5 row landscape keyboard (as opposed to portrait keyboard like the Pre or Blackberry) ... and that I'd sincerely like a 4.1" 800x480 screen (this device doesn't have that, but I'm just saying, that gets to be my ideal). Optionally allow Maemo as the phone OS instead of Android.
I can't get THAT device for _any_ price point, nor any point of quality. So, I can choose quality with the annoyance of insufficient features (through mainstream vendors) ... or maybe I can have the features I want at a lower point of quality (if the above phone had those features). Six of one, half a dozen of the other.
Maybe you didn't realize what you type john, but the first sentence you said had the word: "I might actually be willing to buy something like that".
And just to be a twat, wouldn't you want lot's of battery LIFE, and not just battery?
