SlingPlayer Mobile 1.1 for iPhone picks up App Store approval
That sweet little update to SlingPlayer Mobile for iPhone that Sling submitted for Apple's perusal about a week and a half ago is now approved and available -- version 1.1, as it were -- bringing native DISH Network navigation, improved widescreen support, and improved response times throughout the app. Separately, Sling has updated us on the 3G-compatible flavor of the app that they've submitted for consideration outside of the US, but so far, no dice -- the company hasn't heard back from Apple, which means it's all WiFi-only for the moment. Wouldn't want to saturate those pricey little 3G cells, now, would we?

Nope sorry : )
"it's all WiFi-only for the moment. Wouldn't want to saturate those pricey little 3G cells, now, would we?"
No problem, I'll just watch Slingplayer Mobile on my Window Mobile phone on ATT. No wait, I'll watch the free version on my Netbook, tethered to my Windows Mobile phone on ATT. ;)
I loaded it and my iPhone 3g has all but stopped playing Sling. Video isn't there but voice is, when video comes in it's staggered to stopped. Use the guide and keypad, it'll select the channel ( like 0243) then go to the guide highlighting the channel. But there isn't the guide to select the channel. I am disappointed big time - it's essentially worthless to me. ORB is working perfectly on 3g or WiFi so it's not my phone or network. I want the old version back. ed
Delete it from your phone, restart it, and then download the app again over Wi-Fi.
If that doesn't work, your computer should have the old version of the program in your iTunes folder (right click on the app in iTunes, and hit 'find in browser', delete the newest Slingplayer.app and then double click Sling in iTunes. It will say the file is missing, would you like to find it? Hit yes, and select the old version of the file. Then re-sync your iPhone to your computer. BAM!
IF all else fails, try using a hammer.
Guess I should have added that the screen is larger so maybe it's trying to push more of the show? But everything I try to watch is like a freeze frame picture as the voice moves fine. Then another picture - start the slide show. Then it just shows a blank screen or a long held frame. Nope - maybe they pumped this for the 3gs but my 3g is choking. ed
